I think we are more compatible with someone who has similar views, so this is for discussions about religion and maybe politics.

Religion:

I am what most would call "non religious" person where organized religion is concerned. In fact:

I've been known to say horrible things about religion, the Bible etc. like "The Bible is not a history book" and that it is basically all a compilation of fiction.

I have referred to religion as a cult. (That is how I see it.)

I created a tarot deck and I do tarot readings, therefore according to Christianity, I'm an evil witch or a worshiper of the Devil.(That of course is absurd and stupid but some people think this. I attribute it to the religious trance state they are in.)

Politics: I think there is a lot of B.S and corruption. I don't think the democrats are much better or worse than the republicans. I don't think the libertarians are terrorists either.

And I think they are all controlled and manipulated by the Evil Elite corporate banker families, who are probably controlled and manipulated by demon aliens from another dimension.

Spirituality and Reality.

Here is where it gets really deep.

Basically this reality is a dream of consciousness and we create it with our thoughts and perceptions.

I don't think politics and government should be ruled by religion.

Religion:

I believe in God the Creator, and Jesus, his only begotten Son being the way to Salvation

I believe in the bible as a historical guide for Christians about living a life for God

I believe people don't have to believe in God or heaven to be decent people, but no one is one hundred percent all 'right' or all 'good'

I believe people do have to get through Jesus to get to God

I don't think those who don't concern themselves with living for God, those who only concern with living for self,,will see the kingdom of heaven

Politics: I am registered democrat. I vote my mind and have never voted strictly on political affiliation.

I think there is no absolutes with republicans or democrats, liberals or conservatives

I feel there is a fair amount of crossover between all the above labels

I think politicians are humans, some can have good intentions and others may not

I believe love of money corrupts, and I believe access to money is access to 'freedom'

I believe because of the potent resource money has become, that money is also POWER, and money is what RUNS everything from business, to politics,,and some factions of organized religion...

money talks,,,,

Spirituality and Reality:

I believe we have a mortal existence (biological reactions called 'feelings', the human body, ) that has a beginning and end and a spiritual existence that has the potential to be eternal,,,depending upon the choices we make with our mortal mind and body,,,

personal reality is whatever our experiences paint it to be for us, and actual reality is the collective of all the personal realities in the world,,,

I think politics and government should be 'ruled' by people, who are inevitably going to have morals and values and standards which influence their decisions,,,, whether those be of a 'religious' nature or not,,,

Discussing religion and politics is like discussing water and oil.

Not really. While mankind invented religion, they use religion to create government. Religion is a big part of politics otherwise people would not be so upset when they see Obama being kind to Islam and people get upset to think that he might be Muslim.

If religion and politics are not attached at the hip, then why is it against the law for an atheist to run for president? And why is is unheard of for the President to be anything but Christian?

Religion and politics are like a married couple who try to kill each other every time they come into contact.

There used to be, but it was over-turned.

However, how many admitted atheists do you see running for president?
And how likely are they to even get close?

wiki:

In 1961, the United States Supreme Court explicitly overturned the Maryland provision in the Torcaso v. Watkins decision, holding that laws requiring "a belief in the existence of God" in order to hold public office violated freedom of religion provided for by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.[40][44][45] This decision is generally understood to also apply to witness oaths.[46]

I think that's a matter of culture, the culture has by and large elected white male Christians for president,,,

it only JUST changed in regards to race

but those attributes were not and are not REQUIRED to run for Presidency, they are only factors which INFLUENCE whether citizens vote for you,,,

Oddly enough, a belief in God, (any God) is required to join the masons. And most of our Presidents have been masons.

Well no doubt that 'man clubs' like the Freemasons and skull and bones etc. not to mention the Elite bloodlines and banking families, hold a lot of influence on who will be president.
