Ahhhh, spring time. When a young man's fancy turns to ... well, his bike of course, and the sounds of engines fill the air. The dusty tarps are pulled from the clics and the wax is applied liberally and lovingly, then buffed away to reveal the depth of the shining paint beneath the clear coat. The chrome is polished until it glimmers in the bright afternoon sun and you think your reflection has never looked so good. Hogs, clics and big rigs, who could ask for anything nicer in life? The sound of the rain gently falling on the aluminum roof as you watch the lightening race across the sky to some far away place known only to the crack of thunder that precedes it. The fresh scent of flowers growing wild along the road and newly cut gr heightens your senses. You lift your head to the soft chirping of the feathered ones in the morning, and are greeted with the warmth of the morning sun gently kissing your face, then rest it again while the crickets serenade you to sleep under a blanket of bright twinkling stars that illuminate the night sky. The sound of children playing and waves caressing the sand fills your ears as you lie on the lush green gr and wonder about life's greatest mysteries. The warm afternoon sun provides the perfect backdrop to the towering oaks and stately pines that remind you of family you wouldn't trade for the world. The crackle of flames while great friends, making greater memories, fills the background with laughter and cheer. The cool touch of skin, from the one you love, gently brushing your cheek as you lay your head at the end of another perfect day. Slowly taking one step at a time, hand in hand, wishing time would stand still if only for a moment while you dream of future plans and far-away lands. Knowing that this day is only one of many to come, you relax and just enjoy being you. The sounds of traffic, sirens, and other city noises are gone and replaced by beauty of the trees gently swaying in the cool breeze. The phones, faxes and computers are far from your mind, your thoughts turn to lures, rods, and the low drone of the outboard. Dipping your toes in the crisp rippling water as the tune of your favourite song fills your mind. Well that's how I want to spend my spring and summer, how do you want to spend yours? ------- Music has always played a major role in my life. I grew up listening to 50s &d 60s rock and country. I was in both the English & French choirs in school. No I can't sing unless you count sounding like a dying cow trapped in a barbed wire fence singing. I played major roles in school musicals each year & spent a summer volunteering at the opera. I'd love to hear the Trans Siberian Orchestra play live but spend my time listening to classic rock. I'm Irish so traditional & Irish punk are on my list of favs along with jazz, blues, & soul. I really can't get into techno/trance and I'm not into drugs, violence or death so rap is out. I have 3 sons that are 38, 36 and 31. I work as a commercial driving instructor. I love writing and being outside in the summer. I'm comfortable in jeans or a formal gown & I would like to learn ballroom dancing. I was raised old school European and am very old fashioned, traditional. I ride a Harley and if the sun is up, I am on it so it will help if you ride too. DD/bg
