We have a cop in our neighborhood that sits in an unmarked car on the corner gas station parking lot.

He gets a lot of action, people running the 4 way stoplight, excessive acceleration, speeding, loitering.

I talked to him one night and he said that close to 75% of the people he pulls over are hip-hop blaring, cocked hat, low pants wearing young uns'.

He stated that he does this to save their lives from their own reckless behaviors.

We have roadside crosses (not legal, here, by the way) to memoralize the dead young.

I do not want to denegrate any of their memories, but the Darwin Awards website shows how their lives have ended. Two of those crosses are from my next door neighbor's children. The kids partied with their parents alcohol when the parents were away on business.

Needless to say, alcohol, fast cars, and young minds ended two lives that night. The arrests of the parents for delinquency charges, the breakup of that marriage all testify to this:

PARENTS! SUPERVISE YOUR CHILDREN
ask them what they do in their spare time
ask them who their friends are
tell them not to smoke or drink until they are of age
supervise their vehicle use
They are not adults
They cannot make the rational decisions that we make'
They do not have the experience to know 'what' happens when you do 'that'

Above all:

Love your children
Tell them you love them
Show them you love them

Every time I buckle my 7 & 2 year old boys into their car, I kiss them and ask them, "Ready to roll?"
My oldest will say 'let's roll'

I have done this their entire lives.

The other day my 7 year old asked me why I did this every time.

I said, "because it conveys the two most important things about my relationship with you boys. One for me to know, and one for you to know. I ask if you are ready to roll to make sure you are buckled up safely. I kiss you to make sure you know that I love you. Nothing is more important to me with you boys that those two things: That you know I love you, and that I know you are safe"

I was crying as I was driving my boys to grandma and grandpas house that day because I would give my life for them, and they know it.

Hey, us cleaning up and not getting pigs any dirtier is one way I can feel good about the insane amount of bacon and pork steaks and pork chops I comsume on a regular basis

WTF Superstar?

The only pig farm I have ever been on was outside Indianapolis, IN

I got up @ 4 in the morning and got ready to leave for the farm @5AM

We arrived @ 6, before going into the barn, I had to take another shower to remove all of my body care products (deodorant, hair care, etc) then I had to put on a paper, full body suit, and little paper shoes over my shoes.

All of this was so I wouldn't get the pigs dirty with MY filth on those clean pigs.

The pigs were cleaner than most of us are at any time of the day
