Don't forget to grease the cookie sheet.
They do kind of remind you a little of ginger snaps.
I personaly wouldn't bake any more than the 8 minutes.

If you cook them ten minutes do they turn into Viking Shields?

Hard rockslaugh

I try not to judge others, but sadly to say I do some times.
Then I step back and take a deep breath and ask myself why.
As I wouldn't want someone to judge me without knowing me, I try to do the same with others.

Will you hire me as an "Expert Witness"?

Would this be before or after
the Chili Cookoff?

No, I think before as after could be dangerous!laugh

Crisp cookies from Germany

2/3 cup Molasses - heat to boiling, Pour over 1/3 cup shortening - stir until shortening melts.
Mix and sift together:
2 cups sifted flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ginger
Add sifted flour mixture to molasses mixture. Stir until well blended. Wrap dough in wax paper and chill about 1 hour.
Roll out in small portions at a time 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board.
Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
Makes about 30-4 dozen cookies.

Hey Ray waving
I'd ask you how's the weather but.. It's always warmer there.

As Tim has said, it's getting considerably cooler. Today its a coolish 61 degrees, the nights are getting colder, around 48-50 degrees
