Yeah, had emergency surgery for my appendix. Ended up in the hospital for a week due to complications. Now I'm home and trying to make a fast recovery so I don't end up with a flat butt.....lol. They say I'll be out of work for another 6 or 7 weeks. I'll be glad when I can lift something heavier than a juice bottle....lol.

Fallen

Finally the vulture is fallen,
Lost in his flight,
Though faded his spirit,
He's losing his fight.

Tired of caring
For those letting him down.
He willed not to fly
And plunged to the ground.

The tears he once wept
Are now crystals of salt,
He leaves them behind
This time maybe his fault.

Better safe than be sorry
His inner voice rings
And into the darkness
He happily sings.

Out like a light
And gone like a flash
He's really not gone
Just faded in ash.

A Puzzle of the Mind

Nothing was said
As silence filled the room.
Silent screams within their minds,
They all heard them loudly boom.

Four of ten now close their eyes
To mask the hideous face.
Six of ten now wish to run
Far from this bloody place.

Nine of ten join their hands
And sooth the angry voice.
Leaving one out in the cold,
He runs without a choice.

One of ten now fades to dark
As nine now shiver in fear.
Knowing not if he'll come back
The first to die this year.

Nine now sick and wayward bound,
At least within their head.
One is joyous and happy now
That he's not really dead.

The nine still huddled till pulled apart
And strapped within their bed.
Fighting these monsters every night
Often wishing that they were dead.

Nine of ten have lost one friend
Due to each one's fault.
Never shall they see him again
For to them he's turned to salt.

Friendship's Reward

He sat there in his chair
As darkness came to play.
He felt his pain was churning
And hope none had mind to pay.

He smiled a smile as best he could.
He thought they would never know,
Then again he thought
His adventure was alone.

Days went by just like a blur
And now his secret's out,
Too many people forcing him
To do just what they could without.

They don't understand
This man's new young friend.
He disregards the doctor's job
While his patient he defends.

Sinking into twilight
The weakened voice does call
And thanks the friend for moment's peace
Before eternal sleep will fall.

Breathe in me the breath of life
