the thread is talking about the actual names of bands, not whether or not you like them or not, there's plenty of other threads for that.

the abortion name you might have heard is "dayglo abortions", punk band from canada.

well said but some of us are just stubborn and never give up even if the saying is true "nice guys finish last"

That saying is not true though, it's just thrown out there as a scapegoat and a means to justify idiotic behavior by some dude's (and women too) who just don't get it. Nice guys never finish last, they run a completely different race.

80's band with pro skater Steve Caballero on guitar called Odd Man Out, I was just thinking abouut how much I miss listening to them and how I wish I still had a working copy of their album. There was also a band called Hollow Men and an album called "Cresta" I still have on tape, good stuff happy

I wouldn't call Madness old pop by any means, I'd consider them more ska than pop.

LOVE the new album, it has elements of their past sound with a continuation of some of the more edgy rock and roll type sound mixed in (like Vertigo for example). I like that I can listen to it all the way through and not skip a song, it's hard to find releases like that nowadays.

Very rare for me to be able to listen to anything over and over again... all the way through.

Have you really listened to the lyrics?

Of course, it's U2 for crying out loud bigsmile laugh

no, absolutely not, forgotten perhaps, but definitely not dead, at least not as long as I can help it.

All types of stuff, I steer away from the bubble gum of every genre though, they all have them, and I refuse to listen to crap.

Jimmie Vaughn (brother of the late great Stevie Ray Vaughn)
Sandra Bullock (collided with us at a SXSW concert a few years ago)
FunkMaster Flex (took pics of me and my car for his website!)

might have a shot at meeting Lance Armstrong some day, our shop does work for the pres. of his foundation, that would rock. :-D

edit: this is not counting a huge list of bmx and skateboard pro's, including Jason Lee (My Name is Earl) and Christian Hosoi just to name a few :)

To bad this didn't happen in Texas, we have an express lane for the people on death row. grumble

yes we do, the only state with the balls to do the right thing, even if it's "unpleasant". You kill someone and get caught you should die, period. What really is irritating is we have murderers in our prison system who get better treatment than honest citizens out there trying to make a life. Now under our new administration, terrorists also get the red carpet, what's next?

Huge fan, had a copy weeks before it came out and was pretty stoked.

I've seen them a total of 3 times, the first time was on The Joshua Tree tour, the 2nd and 3rd were from the elevation tour. The first show was in april of 2001 (pre-9-11) and then the 2nd was here in Austin in November after all the chaos had happened. I'm hoping to catch them again if they come through here :)

As far as the album itself, I really like their last 2 since they went back to a lot of the people they worked with in the 80's for the producing and such. They got a little obnoxious there for a while with the whole Zoo Tv thing and all that madness, I missed that tour on purpose actually as I heard they weren't playing older songs on it. They played a TON of older stuff when I saw them at that November show here, it was pretty sweet. I've been listening to them since before cd's were popular, I still have several of their albums on cassette happy
