This is another travesty for America. Brace yourselves, you ain't gonna know what hit you in the coming months.... ![]() ![]() No, I didn't say that. Idiots like Franken and his liberal co-horts running the House is the travesty. Everyone who voted for Obama will soon get exactly what they deserve. And they won't be happy about it unless they're mooching off the Gov't. The problem is, the rest of us are going to get what they deserve, too ... and from what I can tell, they aren't even going to use any lubricants. ![]() |

Have you ever hurt someone you care about deeply simply because you were afraid of getting hurt first? What did you do to make ammends? No, why would I do that? I've screwed things up, but never on purpose...I'm honestly confused here, why would you do it on purpose? Because you were afraid to get hurt first? Humans...I may never understand their habits... Mork? ![]() |

I tried going on a cruise once, and it was the most BORING experience I've ever had. Nuthin' but families with screaming kids and octogenarians with their oxygen bottles crashing on my toes. I'll take a road trip, thank you very much. OK, just saw this one ... To avoid "screaming kids and octogenarians ...", I recommend (if you ever do think you might try again) trying a cruise during the school year (fewer kids) on one of the cruise lines I suggested in my previous post (fewer "old folks"). Or get in on the cruise that SuzinVA is planning for Mingle folks in 2010 ... at least there, you'll already be familiar with some of the people on board! |

You couldn't get me to take a cruise in a million years. I had to witness a weekly ritual that took place at the hotel I was staying at when I was in Panama some years ago. Every Wednesday, around noon, a rather large group of elderly (I'm talking octogenarians here) people coming off of a cruise ship docked at the local harbor would stop by and check out the gift shop. It was almost like the hotel was instantly transformed into a retirement home there was so many people. I started nicknaming the hotel the "Melia Shady Acres" ("Melia" is the name of a chain of hotels in Central/South America). I also started calling the rush of blue-hairs making their tourism rounds the "grey tsunami", because that's pretty much what is was- a tsunami of grey-haired old folks. There are a few cruise lines that cater (slightly) to an older crowd, but most of them try to be very family-friendly, so that kids and "pre-middle-age" adults can enjoy them. If the age factor is what's keeping you off of cruises, then I'd say your experience has been VERY limited, and you really ought to check into it. Like Suz said, Carnival or Royal Carribean are two of the biggest, and they really try to appeal to all age groups. Royal Carribean has things like rock-climbing walls, ice skating rinks, and wave simulators for surfing on many of their ships. Cruising really is the most cost-effective way to vacation! |

BUT WILL YOU STILL BE IN MICHIGAN?????????? Yes I will still be in Michigan, but for only about a year or so. Before you leave MI ... if you haven't been to Traverse City, you need to go ... especially in the fall ... just gorgeous up there! [and if you've already been, go again!] |

One that I want to take is the Pacific Coast Hi-way from begining to end. The part that I've been on (between SF and Monterey) is a beautiful drive ... checking out the entire thing would be great ... might have to think about that in the future. |

Nice guys are rare and, according to this thread, often not seen by women. This is because they are unlikely to get in your face. Decent men have thought through lifes relationship issues and do not define themselves by the attention they receive from women. They define themselves by their own acheivements. Have you wondered why women are so often in a relationship crisis when they are with men who are not shy or reserved...the one that swept her off her feet...the one who bullies her relentlessly with emotional games and controlling behaviour...the one who screwed three of her friends then begged to be able to come back? Because those men need the attention of women to feel fulfilled. They throw themselves at women (which adds to the illusion that nice guys are not there). Men who are that needy are unlikely to have considered how to actually make a relationship work. They are also unlikey to have a great deal to offer once they have chalked up another conquest. Nice guys may appear gay or taken because they dont pursue women the way that women have become used to from the needy tools. They are not gay and they are too clever to be taken ("owned"). They dont throw themselves at women because nice guys are capable of living life for itself and not for their partner. They are not dependent on the emotional crutch of a relationship. Nice guys are are rare and sought after. They are the coolest people on the planet. The problem is, the guys you talked about there (the insecure ones who throw themselves at women) are the same ones who are proclaiming themselves to be "nice guys" and loudly lamenting that they can't find a woman, so it must be a problem with the women that they don't want nice guys. If only there were another title the REAL nice guys you discussed could bestow upon themselves to differentiate themselves from those other guys ... |

IS it that they want their women to have implants ?! OR Botox? What is the real Scoop, Men? ![]() Like many of the men who have responded, I certainly don't want a woman to have the "fake" types of things that you mentioned. Be your genuine self in every way. There will be those that can accept you for who you are, and those who can't. You'll probably know which ones are which pretty quickly. [Especially if you're a woman ... we guys can be quite oblivious sometimes!] |

Sneak a peek in their purse and check for Prozac. I catch you snooping in my purse, for any reason, then you better be ready for me to drop you like a hot potatoe. Not only is that and issue of privacy it is a matter of dignity. If you are so unsure of the person you are dating that you have to snoop then you should follow your gut intinct and move on. Are you related to Dan Quayle? ![]() |

I'm not worried about health care so much as their stuuuuupid cap and trade. THAT's the big one. I wouldn't go quite that far. "Nationalized health care" would be a huge threat to liberty and private enterprise (such as it is anymore) - perhaps a bigger threat than even the "cap & trade" bill, which is an enormous menace all its own. |

He tells you he loves you after 5 days of talking?! RUN!!! I gotta agree with this one ... run, run fast, run far, keep running, don't look back (at least as it pertains to the particular weirdo in question) ... and then run some more, just to be safe |
