So CNN doesn't know what they are talking about but instead of you berating the source you berate a new site who is reporting on the source who is fact checking Walz' military record.
Secondly, the issue is not whether Walz was a CSM during his 2 years but rather did he RETIRED as Command Sergeant Major as he claims which the Nationak Guard said it is not. If he says otherwise it is misleading. There are several ways to splice the story, but when Walz submitted his retirement request, he was still a CSM. Rank insignia right there on his uniform. Go ahead and check the timeline if you wish. So Walz is playing on a technicality. Demoted to Master Sergeant a few months after retiring but still bragging he retired as a Command Sergeant Major. Yet that isn't the official position of the Minnesota NG. Interesting.
