Topic: A Parents Love

I just wanted to say that I envy the kind of love parents hold for their children. I believe there is no greater love than that between a parent and child. I pray to experiance that kind of love someday. To hold a child that is a part of you and feel such joy.

I know Im young and have time to have children later but as crazy as it sounds I can already feel the love and joy they carry and if i can feel that so strongly for someone who doesnt exist yet then i cant wait to feel what you all must be feeling right now.

There are so many people who dont understand that the life they brought into this world is so precious and wonderful they dont truly understand how important their love is on their child so I want to say thank you to all of you who do understand and appreciate the gift you brought into this world because we can really learn from them as well.

Thank You flowerforyou

Absolutely beautiful post!

If more "parents to be" felt that way...and then maintained the capacity to love unconditionally even after having been blessed..the world would be a much better place.

I do actually...I thought people would think it was strange to be talkin about my future children...I already wrote them poems and am writing my own lullaby's to sing to them....I cant stop smiling and crying over the fact that one day i will get to hold them and love them in such a way that I cant even imagine the kind of joy they will bring....My day will come...eventually....

(((Denise))) We all know you love your children so much you always talk about them. HMM and is your oldest a guy bigsmile cause I still havent found that special someone yet lol blushing

rarerose..I don't find ur feeling strange..

u have a very strong maturnal nature...

that is a beautiful characteristic to ones self to have....

I was the same way...hell I played with my dolls til I was 14...

And I still have my baby dolls...I will keep them forever...

my very first, special baby(doll) was kidnapped...mad  grumble to this day...

I had a beautiful doll and the old fashion style coach...my baby blanketand all...

left it at the front door went in for something..came out and everything was gone...

want to talk about a screaming kid...lol,grumble

my eldest son also is very maturnal..and i am happy about that...

So do as u want and what makes u happy..and one day u willl have that bundle of joy..

just don't ruch into it with the wrong person...to meet ur wants..

I did that..but I have no regrets cause I have 2 sons I wouldn't want to live with out and wouldn't want any other than them..

Maternal intincts are great but before you get too mushy about how wonderful it will be and find yourself MAYBE rationalizeing away your good judgement in a weak moment of enevy or dreamyness go out and volunteer where things are not so rosey posey when it comes to parenting. Talk to some Moms that fight the good fight day in and day out with a special needs child or maybe a child that came a little earlier than planned. Look around your life and see what you are really willing to give up to buy food, formula, diapers, clothes, and toys. If you can't support yourself for at least four years with no one else paying your way on what you have saved walk don't run to a good OBGYN and learn what you have to do to stay childless. Mothering is wonderful but it is a bitter pain to see the baby you know you are responsible do without anything it wants much less what it needs. Read everything you can, babysit, volunteer in childcare centers for Homeless Moms shelters, really listen to what your Mom tells you about the real deal. Then if you are ready go for it. It will take every bit of energy and love and a pound of your heart every day. I am not saying that is a bad thing in any way but do it with the rose colored glasses off. EVERY child deserves no less. Remember There is no I or ME in Motherhood. It is all about OTHER.

Well for starters Im a nanny, and i have worked at the child advocacy center and with kids with special needs as well...I got my CNA in high school so ive worked Labor and Delivery (seen all the ways a baby can be born) I've worked in the NICU (newborn intensive care unit) and seen the struggles some have to go through, ive done more in my 22 years than most people my age....I know being a parent is work in its self and isnt always rainbows and sunshine but even with the darkest of days they will be my baby my pride and joy my piece of art that no matter what will always be taken care of.

But like I said I still have time...I want one before Im 30 but im not goin to rush into anything to make that happen, I want it to be with the right person.

(For MY) Future Children
March 15, 2007

I know I have not created you
But someday I will, you see.
And you will mean the world to me
I will hold each one of you so
Tight you cannot breathe
And tell the world of my joy
And how lucky I must be.
You are all my pride and joy
My most beautiful masterpiece
I will never forget the first
Time you smiled at me.
I can’t wait to send you to school
And watch you grow and learn
To hear of how you lost your tooth
And had so much fun at Prom
I will cry the day we send you
To some school miles away
And will be there on the day
We give you away
Then it will be your turn
To create a family of your own
And hold your children with love and care
And sing them to sleep with my lullabies
With which I sang to you for so long
You will then realize what
You all mean to me.
And when I am no longer here
To hold you as before
My love will rain from heaven
And will be knocking at your hearts door.

Krystle McGee
