The drive-in is open and they are playing a couple of good movies this weekend -- "Baby Mama" and "Made of Honor."

I am really considering going, really want to see "Baby Mama" - it looks hysterical.

Not sure though, really don't want to go if there are going to be a bunch of kids out there drinking and making noise. Kinda ruins it.

Anyone else going to the drive-in this weekend??

There ain't a drive-in for at least a hundred miles in my town. The last one in L.A. (The Pan Pacific Auditorium/Theater/Drive-In) got turned into a politically-correct park and community center. So no drive-ins for me. ohwell

I've never been. They're hard to find nowadays. Like pay phones and arcade game rooms...relics of the past...

This town is small, about 7,000 people, and the story is that the town was going under in the 70s and then the hippies moved in here and saved the town. We have a real cross-section of people, quite interesting bunch. They will fight to the death to keep any business franchises out, want only "mom and pop" type businesses here, etc. Some good people though.

The town is old and lots of Victorian houses, and property value is really high too.

But, I do think I have seen more elderly drivers here than I have anywhere I have ever lived. YIKES!!grumble noway grumble noway

I miss doing that. Back in Cali where i used to live there was a drive in that i would go to once in a while. It's nice being able to relax in the back of my truck watching a movie. When i was a teen, there was one place that had 7 screens and we used to hope the fencs to watch a movie. So many care you didn't need to worry about hearing the movie.

We don't have drive in movies anymore, haven't for over twenty years now, the Mom and Pop stores are all gone. The old stores with wooden floors and cold root beer no longer exist. I really hate that, but then i'm just a dinosaur anyway. Use to be you could leave the doors unlocked, now days they will just bust them down and take everything that meant something to you.....noway Drugs and decline in morals....way to go huh

I agree with your Mark, it is sad.
They had a store here over 100 years old, a couple of teenagers burned it down last year when they torched the dumpster. They rebuilt the store, almost the same as it was. Have to lock our doors now too.

There used to be a saying you didn't have to lock your car unless it was around zucchini harvest time, because then you might come out and find your car stuffed with zucchini because people couldn't get rid of the stuff.

Sounds awesome Mike, babies are so cool. Get every minute you can in now, they grow up so fast. You will make a fantastic daddy. He is one lucky little guy.flowerforyou

I am doing okay, just stalling on here, need to go finish cleaning out my car. Finally got it fixed after sitting for a year, had to as the van is acting up. Taking it tomorrow to take my girlfriend to put flowers on our grandparents graves and think my car will be more reliable for the trip.

Hope you have a great rest of the weekend.

We still have a couple of Drive-Ins here, but I haven't been in years. Man they were fun back when I was going, but I imagine things have changed a bit over the years and I bet it costs a fortune now to go.....I'd still like to go though.....drinker drinker
