There have been a few threads this week asking about being in love with more than one person... but what about those times that you love someone you just cannot have for one reason or another? How do you deal with it???

hmm.. how would you fall in love with someone you couldn't have in the first place? Doesn't falling in love with someone happen once you've spent a lot of time with that person, getting to know everything about them, sharing, bonding, trusting...
|

Then they aren't the person I am supposed to be with and I wish them well

For me it's a daily struggle. Tonight, a little bit of vodka has helped, but I know that's not the solution. Time will heal me, I've just gotta be patient.

it hurts and is very frustrating i do the usual female thing and cry and get on with my life..

I've heard it happen...
example: someone falls for say, a co-worker that is married. Obviously (ok.. hoping!) cares enough NOT to say anything.. and just has to find a way to deal with being with this person, loving them.. and knowing they cannot have them. I am not talking about being in love with 2 people at the same time.

Well of course it happens..
I seem to be that person falling for guys I cannot have..for me it is probably because I know that I cannot have them, soo I even want them more.. I usually don't like guys that like me..its a weird thing..lol I guess it goes back to the ole saying: "Wanting what you cannot have"..and yes it is oh so true. |

I believe that your heart grows to encompass this new love.. Someday that love may even overcome that which you feel for the one you can not have. Seemed to work that way for me anyway.
There is a song "Love the one your with" I think? |

How do you deal with it??? Unrequited Love is one of strongest forms of love. One needs to ask...is it love or desire/lust that you are feeling. If you truly Love someone you want them to be happy. If that means with you - fantastic. If it means without you - accept it and move on. JMO |
