Honestly I think if people looked into who owns what they'd be surprised.

Take cable tv stations. All those channels and the programing decisions are controlled by six major owners.

When you see stories like the one circulating many years ago about Proctor & Gamble or the current ones about Target I'd say do a little fact checking.

The Consumerist, http://consumerist.com/, is a great site for anyone to use when sorting out issues with or when making decisions about where you want to shop. They are a great site for anyone who has gotten the short end of the stick when dealing with a large corporation and is frustrated. I know rabid conservatives and equally nutso liberals who have nothing but praise for the site.
