E-mail scam from Spain aimed at Oregon consumers

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — An e-mail survey sent to Grants Pass area residents that offered $90 simply to answer some questions for a bank turned out to be too good to be true.

Police say it was a scam run electronically from Valencia, Spain.


The e-mail used a phony Home Valley Bank logo and asked for personal information the real bank says it would never request by phone or e-mail.

And the scam hijacked a phone number for a health care organization in Wisconsin as its fake contact number, forcing the organization to waste time answering a number of angry phone calls before the scam was discovered.

Home Valley Bank has blocked any transactions involved with the scam.

challenged children, barren-women and persons who prove to be genuinely handicapped

money for the said purpose just as I¢m going to instruct herein. I want you to utilize
the funds by creating a charity foundation called ?WILLIAM OSBORNE FOUNDATION¢ to
assist widows and help accident victims worldwide.

I took this decision because my husband's relatives are Trouble Makers and I don't
want my husband's efforts to be used for trivialities do not want a situation where my
husband's sweat will be used in material pursuits. This is why I am taking this
decision.Moreso because I do not have any child that will inherit this money and my
husband relatives are bourgeois and very wealthy persons and I do not want my husband
hard earned money to be misused or invested into ill perceived ventures. I do not want
this money to be misused hence the reason for taking this bold decision. I am not
afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I do not need any telephone
communication in this regard due to my deteriorating health and because of the
presence of my husband relatives around me. I do not want them to know about this
development.

I cannot give this fund to anybody here in England because my Husband relatives have
people in high places and will frustrate all attempts within this country.

humm!! i think i got that one today and i deleted it i get alot of thoses any how

I received an unsolicited mail from a sender who identified themselves as the FBI. In it they assured me that some other mail I received (but did not open) was 100% genuine and that the Nigerian finance company it came from was a secure investment.

Funny stuff eh?

Hustles work because deep down, at least a little, everyone wants something for nothing.

The general rule is that if it sounds like something for nothing, if it sounds too good to be true...it likely is.

i had a scam that came in over a week or 2 ago from ashelys furnture, and they were hiring and they were asking questions and so i gave them my name and then in the 2nd email they ask for the name of my bank, right there i knew it was bogus so i contacted the company as there here in town and i gave them the info
shortly after i get a bogus check in the mail its so bogus you can see the erriors on the check..LOL!!!! sometimes you just want to them in there you know what
