My computer access has been a little spotty lately.

I actually spend most of my time in General Discussion, a little bit in Relationship Advice, and smatterings here and there -- I've posted some stuff in Poetry & Creative Writing (including a chapter from my first book) but that was ages ago.

As a forum moderator, I spend more time reading than posting though.

Just wish we could resuscitate the Illinois Forum somehow....it would be nice to be able to talk to some people who were actually closer than 897,000 miles for once....!

question for Chicagoans...

do the trains still go to Union Station, or somewhere else? (same place, different name?) I haven't been to Chicago proper in 25 years, come from a suburb to the north, in Lake County.

Some still go to Union Station, some go to Millennium Station (Randolph & Michigan).

So I know if I want to visit up there, I can get a METRA from Union Station to Round Lake. Because I'm not sure I want to try to drive out of Chicago!

Not used to that level of traffic.

It was interesting...not EVERY train on that line goes all the way to Round Lake, so THAT is a little important to realize.

I'm doing good today...just ready for the weekend. Homework is a bummer though. Now I know why I was hesitating about going back to school.

HEY SIR!! You can call THE METRA and the PACE at (Your Area Code)836-7000 I do know there is a Metra train that goes to the Union or the Ogilvie downtown station. They will also route you to other locations from the downtown station.

Sometimes metrarail.com and pacebus.com can get CONFUSING.

Also, FREE warning! Most of the trains stop at 12am and do not start until 6am!
