Okay, for he second time Palin has made this statement. She must believe it. I wll be sending Mrs. Palin an e-mail later today asking her to please read the Constitution.

The veep is not in charge of the senate. They have no vote unless there is a tie. This is very clear.

In an interview with KUSA in Colorado, Palin responds to the following question:

Q: Brandon Garcia wants to know, "What does the Vice President do?"

PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me! ... [T]hey’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.

thought the only 2 responsibilities of the VP was

1. Preside over the Senate (President of the Senate)
He still has limited power there (See the Senate page), but his vote can make or break legislation.

2. Take over for the position of president if the President becomes too sick to work or dies
When this happens, the House of Representatives elects another to fill in for Vice President.
