Total contributions to McCain so far- $358,000,000

Total contributions to Obama so far- $603,000,000

Combining total of $961,000,000

Total number of people in U.S.- 304,000,000

243 million are 15 - 65 years of age or older

Estimated number of households in U.S.- 116,000,000

Estimated number of people per household- 2 Adults, 2 children

Average annual income per household- Around $50,000

Estimated number of registered voters- 169,000,000

About 86.19 million are registered Democrats

If everybody (all 304 million) donated $3.16, it would equal $961 million

If everybody 15 years of age or older donated $3.95, it would equal $961 million

If 169 million people donated $5.68, it would equal $961 million

If 86.19 million people donated $7.00, it would equal $603 million

If 116 million Households donated $8.28, it would equal $961 million

Maximum contribution per individual- $2300

Maximum contribution per couple- $4600

If 417,826 people donated $2300, it would equal $961 million

I fit into these numbers as a voter, average annual income, age. I haven't contributed a dime to a Presidential Candidate though.

I also know a host of others that fall into the same category as me. Voters, income, age, and no contributions.

Considering your current status, the status of those around you and the economic crisis, do these numbers add up to you?

Not really much math involved there, I did most of it for you.

I'm just saying more or less, that's a lot of money!
