If you don't like someone, as in being in a romantic relationship with them, but you want to just be friends, then holding hands with them is sending mixed signals. If you want to see where it leads, then it sounds like you may be leaning more to the romantic type of relationship instead of just friends. Maybe you need to decide what kind of relationship you want as an ultimate goal, and then act accordingly.
