This news should alarm all Americans regardless of party.

Pentagon to detail military to bolster security
Plan would dedicate 20,000 uniformed troops inside U.S. by 2011

The U.S. military expects to have 20,000 uniformed troops inside the United States by 2011 trained to help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe, according to Pentagon officials.

The long-planned shift in the Defense Department's role in homeland security was recently backed with funding and troop commitments after years of prodding by Congress and outside experts, defense analysts said.

There are critics of the change, in the military and among civil liberties groups and libertarians who express concern that the new homeland emphasis threatens to strain the military and possibly undermine the Posse Comitatus Act, a 130-year-old federal law restricting the military's role in domestic law enforcement.

Sorry to tell ya all this, but the rule of law in this country means very little any more. The new anti-terrorism bills have stripped U.S citizens of many of there constitutional rights. The rights of privacy are a joke anymore. If someone has those rights violated, the courts will not even entertain any action against the perp's unless the victim is well off or famous or there has been a serious physical crime because of it! I agree we all need to be somewhat accepting of big brother keeping a more careful watch. But big brother should also take a much stronger stance against the life sentence someone may receive in the market place of employment or in the financial systems because of having their right of privacy violated. Unfortunately the problem is now so big that is really nothing that can be done about it! It is truly a pandora's box situation.

Keeping fighting the good fight!
