I consider myself middle-ground regarding the belief of spirits of the dead actually manifesting toward the living...But I just had the creepiest fracking experience.sick

I'm sitting here watching The Ring...in a big, empty house. With a start, I realize the wash is done in the dryer. Pull out my yellow hoodie and put it on, all with this vague sensation of being observed, which is more or less how I tend to feel when I'm in a big, spooky house all alone.

Shaking this feeling off, I continue watching my movie. Several minutes pass before I get the compulsion to eat. I pause the movie and am cooking alone in that big spooky kitchen---which did I mention is virtually cavernous---all the while trying to shake this continued dread that I'm being watched.

Logic reigns supreme, as always, and I inform myself that there is no way I'm being watched. But as I'm walking to my room, I continue to be plagued with the sensation of eyes boring into the back of my skull.

Suddenly, I feel something on my leg! Tentatively, I reach down to see what it is. It turns out to be a sock somehow attached to my pant leg. It is warm to the touch...it is from the dryer that I was at 30 or so minutes before. However, I only pulled my hoodie out of the dryer. I made sure to leave the rest of the clothes in there, to be retrieved later when there is more people in the house and I am less tense. This sock had not been in my pantleg earlier. It feels as though someone just tossed it at me. Yet there is no one in the house, and the hairs on the back of my neck rise.

tears what scared

I'm not usually like this...I mean, I go through this anxiety of being watched in an empty house every once in awhile, but never this bad. It feels better to write this. I needed to write this. I suppose the "ghosts" are just figments of my imagination; this is a new house I'm living in, and I'm barely settled in. Also, I've never before lived in such a mansion...it just puts me on edge. I look around at these walls, and it's hard to subdue this impression that people might have been murdered here, long ago. surprised

Its REAL!!!!!!!!!

This is how ghosts do it, they start with small things that seem completely harmless, next thing you know they will be mismatching those socks!!!!

You just wait if you don't get a sock ghost hunter in there soon, it could mean the end of warm feet as you know it!

Why, just this morning as I was leaving my bedroom, I found myself covered in Dog Hair (all over my freshly laundered black dress)!

My dog was WAY downstairs!!!

scared

And...

Here I am at work...

Still picking off hairs...

shocked

Yikes!

The Truth Is Out There!

I have had several experiences with spirits and they are very real and very "here".

You're lucky he gave it back to you instead of taking it to the land of vanished socks.

huh

So is the sock haunted?

What was the punchline...?

I missed it...

Or was the hoodie haunted?

Or the dryer?

I am so confused....

ohwell

The way I suddenly noticed a sock that I swear had not been stuck to my leg before...I would have noticed the heat from the dryer...created the impression that someone was in the house...someone not at all alive.

Which of course is preposterous. My anxiety was no doubt fueled by being in a strange house alone and watching a scary movie. There is no such thing as ghosts. I am just a high-strung individual.embarassed

I still maintain that the sock was not attached to my leg when I walked away from that dryer.indifferent

I do believe in ghosts. I loved the movie The Ring. Your sock got stuck on your pantleg from the dryer when you pulled out your hoodie. flowerforyou

Apparently, yes. But I could swear that it wasn't attached to my leg before I noticed it.
