I know, I know, its probably been done. But since its Christmas time and all....Lot refuses to give up his angels to the perverted mob, offering his two "virgin daughters" instead. He tells the bunch of angel rapers to "do unto them {his daughters} as is good in your eyes." This is the same man that is called "just" and "righteous".
How do folks feel about this?

I don't feel anything about it. I suppose most people would do the same thing. Angelic messengers are more important than daughters. Seems like a just and righteous decision to me.

Is that by biblical standards or human?

What do you think he should have done?

What do you think he should have done?
With the angel rapers? Told them they had left. Gotten my girls out of there or died trying. |

When a person truly serves G-D then nothing comes before HIM. Even your children come after HIM. We have too much pride to understand that.

Then explain. We are listening.

The ancient world was a harsh and unforgiving place. They did not have the option of "playing nicey nice" like we do. Survival required sacrifices we cannot imagine making. Horrible and terrifying choices had to be made.

So protecting my own children would make me "unrighteous" but giving my two virgin daughters over to a mob to gang rape (and potentially murder,) is hunkey dorey? |

Women weren't valued at all in the OT so it doesn't surprise me.

So we honor this god? |

Yet that god still referred to Lot as righteous even in the face of such absolute disregard for his own family. |
