Still digging in the wayback machine, these must have been written when
I was wasted. ---Bloody Merry There was a girl, bloody merry Who was obsessed with gothic faeries She had pictures, trinkets carried Vampire Wiccan, corsets green Hair white and red; energy clean She was a freak since teenage years The preppy boys bored her to tears But then one day she met a man in her dreams… During a college class on Renaissance themes He taught her life wasn’t about things Talismans, charms and sundry beads Crutches of faith, not utter needs True strength, he said, comes from within Believe and learn and then begin In a few minutes, she did protest Woke up, held crystal to her chest Looked down at fairy ring, happy Lived on, as before, bloody merry Ha-ha. What did you expect, a life lesson? --Bacchus in the bedroom Just one little word of warning, When you wake up in the morning If you were drunk the night before And you wake up on the floor Don’t pull the covers, go back to sleep Someone could roll off in a heap And wake up naked, angry, mad If you’re naked too, it could be bad If you wake with two…and one’s your lover Don’t try to blame it on the other Just take a minute, stop to think Reach over; grab another drink Lift up a bottle; make a toast Flesh wounds are brief but you can boast… |
