For a while... then I kind of ease back into those areas...

Nope, I don't either.The only thing that bothers me is one freakin song on the radio and all I do is just switch the station. But its been almost a year so even that has eased up and now I can listen to it and smile knowing I am not "in it" anymore.

It's only been months for me so some things I treat as a minefield. It'll be okay with time, but some things are triggers . . . and I'm still healing.

He was an alcoholic and lived in bars, I have never liked bars, so not an issue there.
He died in 1994 and I know he is now in "hell" (and earned it righteously so) and I have no plans on visiting there, so he can have the place all to himself. Have never known a more truly hateful person. I go wherever I want to go now, don't have to watch over my shoulder anymore (since 1994 anyways). |

after being married for 17 yrs, everything i do or everywhere i go could probably have some sort of reminder. whether i let it consume me or not is my choice. today i do my best to not let things consume me

There may be places or things done while in a former relationship with any particular woman that I will not frequent anymore. By the same token, I probably never went to them or did them before we started dating, either, so it's no great shakes for me anyway. I'm not out anything.
