I'm not a lover of buttermilk, but this will surely change your mind.
Great Southern recipe.

BUTTERMILK CUSTARD PIE

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. butter, softened
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 unbaked pie shell, 9-in.

Mix sugar and flour; cream with butter. Add eggs, vanilla, salt and
buttermilk. Gently pour into pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 30
minutes, or until filling is set. This recipe can be doubled.

In this recipe you don't even taste the buttermilk. All the more reason
I just love it, can't stand the smell or taste of buttermilk.

I don't want any buttermilk in my custard pie, but now you made me
hungry and I have to go to house of pies.

Just kidding, buttermilk is good in a lot of stuff, pancakes for one
thing, and don't forget something to soak your cornbread in.

Have you tried a sweet-potato pecan pie? Just a lot like a pecan pie but
replace most of the corn syrup with sweet potato and sweeten to taste. I
usually don't tell anybody about this fine combination, but you jsh
people are so nice I'll break my rule here.
