Boston Bruins forward Marco Sturm(LW)is out for the season.(AP)

Marco Sturm underwent surgery on his left knee on Tuesday and will miss the remainder of the season.Sturm, who led the Bruins with 27 goals last season, had surgery Tuesday on his left knee. Doctors repaired his meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament and said the operation was successful.Sturm played 19 games this season and had seven goals and six assists before getting injured in an 8-5 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on 12/18/08.He will be greatly missed in the playoff run this year.G'Luck! w/ his recovery & return.;)

Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Hunwick is out of the playoffs.

On April 18th, at a team meeting before game two against the Montreal Canadians, Hunwick complained of abdominal pain. Dr. Peter Asnis, the Bruins' team doctor, determined that he needed medical treatment and Hunwick was taken to the hospital via ambulance. He underwent surgery for a ruptured spleen, and will be out for the rest of the playoffs recovering.G'Luck! w/ recovery & return.;)

I truly can appreciate your discomfort & great sadness.It must be terrible to have to cheer on your team all year just to watch them eventually be reduced to a ball of flames,ashes & a few lingering trails of smoke.That is ghastly indeed.But hang in there & remain optimistic for there is always next yr.;)It is important that U understand that there are the spoils of VICTORY!which we will bask in.Then there are the agonies of DEFEAT!which U will wallow in.Of course there's always the option of U crossing over & climbing aboard our winning team aka the glorious BOSTON BRUINS!!;)

Hmmmmmmmm!I thought I had taken care of that pesky tractor guy already.Perhaps it was is brother Billy Bob.He comes from 1 of them very large families were they all look alike.Me thinks I'll have to ask Mr.Blades to pull a little xtra security duty around the Garden.He's such a resilient fella.It must be from all them potatoes & octopus he consumes.We wont be seeing much of that on the ice.;)

BOSTON, MA - The NHL announced today that Boston Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas has been named one of three finalists for the Vezina Trophy, which is awarded “to the goalkeeper adjudged to be the best at his position.” Thomas joins Minnesota’s Niklas Backstrom and Columbus’ Steve Mason as this year’s Vezina finalists. This is the first time Thomas has been a Vezina finalist in his career.

Thomas - who set a career high with 36 wins this year and played in his second straight NHL All-Star Game - finished the 2008-09 regular season as the league leader in Goals Against Average (2.10) and Save Percentage (.933). He helped lead the Bruins to their highest victory (53) and points (116) totals since 1971-72, and he and teammate Manny Fernandez shared the NHL’s William Jennings Trophy as the goaltenders for the club finishing the regular season having surrendered the fewest goals (196).

The general managers of the 30 NHL clubs submitted ballots for the Vezina Trophy at the conclusion of the regular season, with the top three vote-getters designated as finalists. The winner will be announced Thursday, June 18, during the 2009 NHL Awards that will be broadcast live from the Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Hotel Las Vegas on VERSUS in the United States and on CBC in Canada.

Yay! there's our Happy Dance.laughMe thinks the pesky Pens have sent 1 of their reporters 2 Beantown 2 keep a watchful eye on them flashy & highly talented Boston Bruins & their beloved fans.Perhaps to take notes w/ extensive film coverage of their skillful plays & mind numbing capabilities that they seem to have a bountiful amount of.I can visualize the pesky Pens in their dressing room as we speak.They are mesmerized by the quality of play making skills that our club possesses.A cloud of impending doom hovers over their locker room as they sense impending loss about to unfold.sad

Say Hi! to Michael Ryder.U will be seeing plenty of him on the ice.He is constantly being cycled among-st our top 2 lines.He is a very dangerous & highly mobile player who possesses 1 of the quickest wrist shots on the entire team.The pucks seems to jump off his blade w/ blistering speed.A netminder's nightmare to say the least.The Habs once owned this great player until their coach foolishly decided to place him in the doghouse all yr & then adding insult to injury they placed him into the free agency pool.(huge mistake)Our brilliant P.Chiarelli snatched him up quickly & offered him a sweet contract.The B's fans were quite skeptical at first but quickly changed their tone when they realized that we secured a real gem.I sense that he will be enjoying a long career w/ our team.
