"Missing Time"

When thoughts of you enter my mind
I wander, what happened to all the missing time,
You left and went to war, another world,
I did not understand,
When you left, you had no choice
I was at home, too impatient to wait
Running away from these empty arms
I wanted you to hold me tight
to tell me it would be alright
that you would come back for me
But I stood alone as you drove away
All the nights I cried myself to sleep,
yearning to hear your voice
and the phone never rang
Life, out of our control
we both moved on, but never forgot...

Here we are, years later
both full of pain and heartache
both of us have made our mistakes
neither of us letting go of the other
Full of hope
Full of fears
Tired and alone
Always misunderstood...

Now the time has come,
talking, catching up, and having fun,
to find out where to go from here...
