You have had not one but TWO open heart surgeries and you SMOKE?????

Way I see it, you HAVE to quit...and it's not a matter of whether or not
you think you "can," I KNOW you CAN.

I know..easier said than done. I had a collapsed lung when I wa very
young and continued to smoke...and I'm very fortunate that I don't have
any serious consequences from it.

Smoking doesn't do a healthy heart any good, much less one that's not!

Ok Jean,
Here is my sick twisted rationalization.

My heart is healthy, I have a good heart.
But I grow blood clots/tumors in my heart...thats the reason for the
surgery. Its more complicated of course...but I am the only documented
case of this. This condition will be named after me. Flattering huh?

I have quit in the past (after open heart #1) I did absolutely
everything the docs told me, eat healthy, no salt diet, didnt smoke at
all after heart surg #1. YET the clot came back. So my rationalization
is...I have this problem smoking or not.

I have a clot in my heart right now. It is in my right ventricle. It
is 3 x 5 centimeters, large enough that if it moved it would kill me
instantly. I give myself shots every 12 hours to stablize it. The
reason I havent had it removed is that every heart surgery I have makes
me weaker and my heart more scarred and they are avoided a 3rd open
heart if possible. But I will know in June if a 3rd is needed. Its
stressfull as hell and smoking is the only thing that calms my mind. I
dont get the same effect from anything else.

STILL have not had one yet today.

Girl, if you have blood clots and tumors in your heart you do NOT have a
"healthy" heart.

And, smoking is directly related to heart disease, clot or no clot,
tumor or no tumor, but it IS much much MUCH worse to smoke if you have
ANY heart abnormalities.

I'm not sure if you realize or appreciate the seriousness of this. But I
do wish you luck with your quitting. If I can do it after 30 years, I'm
sure you can, too.

Oh I know all to well the seriousness of my condition, I know.

I know Im lucky to still be around talking to you all right now. By all
means I should have died a few times.
