This is a YES or NO question.

When choosing a mate does religion matter?

If so, why? If not, why?

Thankyou wonderman, In the scriptures it also says "do not be yoked with
unbelievers"

I was going to go into that but you beat me to it.

Although I wouldn't consider marriage or a serious relationship with
someone not of the same faith I wouldn't be judgemental or hateful. I'll
be your loving friend

He was lead by the Holy Spirit when he said that

It matters to me to a certain degree.......Being a Christian, I feel
that I should be with a fellow Christian as well. But if you meet
someone that isn't a Christian and you fall in love, there's not much
you can do about it........And yes, I read the Bible and know what Paul
said..........

No not really I believe In God and go to church along with my Volunteer
work,,,What does matter is that in knowing this about me he respects my
choices i have made without trying to change me or my beliefs,,, I enjoy
learning about different religions and would also make sure that if we
have different faiths to learn all I can about his,, wether we disagree
or not is fine the ability to talk about it openly will strengthen our
union.

Well for me. I'm all about the spiritual connection because without that
you can be gorgeous or not it won't matter.

I've been there! I dated this one guy where spiritually nothing was
there, his face became invisible

I would have to say yes. A lot of life choices and too great a
difference could cause huge rifts in many areas. The maturity level
(not based on age) of the people involved; however, might be able to
make it work. How's that for sittin on the fence.

Religion would not matter.

What would make a difference is how strong their faith was and what
their beleifs were.

she would have to be a believer in god... i couldn't possibly be in a
relationship with a non believer...just don't see it working out. some
wher down the line we would clash no doubt

LOL different.

I do think that if someone is so serious about God, major differences
between a believer and a non-believer would damage the relationship in
the long run. Say if they decided to get married (a Christian and
atheist)

For example, say if a MARRIED couple that did not want children was in a
situation where the wife became pregnant. As a Christian you avoid
abortions, so the wife decides to keep the baby but the husband wants an
abortion...realistic enough to me.

It would matter to me and not only between Christian and non Christian
but even in the Christian faith, because not all believers believe the
same thing.

...i find it very uninteresting to be involved with someone that exists
to cancel out my point of view.

i choose to associate myself with people that act...that DO 'thank you'

i don't need to discriminate because i am discriminated against
first...(saves alot of hassel that way)

as an athiest many run run run run run as fast as they can away from
me....

as if because i don't believe, i have no conscience...no morality
hahhahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

o well!

No, religion doesn't matter.
If you really love someone, there is always a way.
