She is just a hippie.
She's different, alright.
Not so conventional.
This is what I thought.

She drums to her own music,
Laughs just when she wants,
Has such fun outside her box,
While her ribbons just trail out.

I watched her hold her babies,
Heard her cry at night,
When everyone was settled down
And finally was quiet.

Her clothes she buys at thrift stores,
Loves her colored beads.
Searches until she finds
The perfect softened weave.

Rolls her own cigarettes,
In the morning, is her time,
Quiet with the waking day,
Knowing hard will climb,

Into her face and stay there.
Persistence, her chagrin.
I love this sweet, my sister.
My only hippie friend.

Coffee always tastes so good
A bottomless of thought
I miss our time together,
Without you sis, I'm not.
