I was born & raised in Orlando, Fl. & my Dad worked for Martin Marrieta & NASA...shuttle lift-offs were commonplace for us...I was also present when the Challenger exploded...:cry:
Whoa, thats sucks.I was on the beach in Galveston in '69 during the moon landing.I was once a Houston resident.



Yeah...as my ex & I were watching it I said "Umm...that don't look so good..." My Dad died shortly after...

Yea...he was always bringing home weird stuff to decorate our rooms with...old computer tape, big glossy photos of rockets...he was a tech engineer & designed some components for the first Lunar Land Module & the old Saturn rockets...we were good little space geeks! laugh

i was on vacation in florida 21 wks ago when the last one went up. we were at epcot and got to watch it take off, it was the coolest thing i have ever seen in real life.
i live in houston and NASA has always been huge here. but i have never seen the space shuttle take off from home.
cool.i have only seen it on tvlaugh
