To say "you're NOT my type" to a guy who has been bugging me for nearly one year! Here are some of the answers I gave him when he has asked me out............

You're not my type
I am not in the dating market
I don't date outside of my religion (He's Muslin, I'm a Christian)
Bug off!
You're too short (I'm 5'6", he's 5'4")and I wear Stilettos when I go out.
I have told him (many times) in a nice way that I am not interested, yet he keeps asking, it is driving me nuts! About a year ago we worked together, then I changed jobs and did not see him for a good few months, now I have moved house and found out he lives about four doors away from me!..............He is always on my door step and now his friends think I am dating him ( he implied this to them)Any ideas guys?

Throw a public hissy fit, and embarrass him in front of as many people as you can muster. Make it publicly clear that you don't wanna see hair nor hide of him.

He surpassed himself yesterday by trying to hold my hand, an elbow in the midriff did nothing to deter him, that is until another resident told him to stop! He puts it down to trying to get my attention( there was a group of us chating in the car park)

The more people are around the better. Say really embarrassing things then, like you are sick and tired of being chased by someone you don't even wanna look at because of this, that and the other. Make things up if you have to, he is obviously doing the same.

Oh, and if he had tried to hold my hand I would have slapped him in the face, not in the midriff.pitchfork

Wow... Sounds like a Stalker type.

Maybe the best solution would be for you to get someone to pose as your boyfriend and have him put the fear of God into the stalker.

Good luck. drinker

If it's this bad

Get a restraining order!

He can become way more than just a stalker

Be careful!!!!!

I've just reported him to the complex manager, who called him into the office ( he was at home) and told him his attention was unwanted by me. He's apologised and has promised not to do it again ( or risk being thrown out of the apartment complex) if this happens he will find it hard to get a reccommendation for any other place he applies to live in. Sorted!

there is a cheap and easy way to stop most guys like this.

Send him a registerd signature letter Typed on plain paper telling him .......
addressing him by his full name.
address
City,State, and zip

" Leave me alone."

Put your legal name,
address.
City,State 7zip
Date it.
Counter sign it in ink.
It can't hurt to add
"Copy sent to: Health and Welfare Officer
address local police department
Your city, State & zip

When you get your confirmation from the post office call 911 immediately if he steps foot on your property excludeing of course any easement. Do not answer your door. When the officer arrives stay inside, he will come to the door and knock then you can let him in or step out on the porch depending what he directs you to do. Answer his questions as briefly as possible. Telling the officer calmly that you have verbally and in wrting told the man to leave you alone; show him the letter. He may or may not talk to the man. Usually there will be two officers on a domestic call. They probably won't tell you what they tell him if they do have a chat with him. My guess is he will split before the officer gets there. If you can do it safely photograph him on your cell phone.

ASAP go down and get your copy of the police report. Even if he is not charged they have to file a report on the call. The officer will probably give you a report number. It should be free but there may be a small fee. It will be very easy to get a restraining order and have him arrested if he bothers you again.

Sorry you have to deal with such a jerk. Do your best to avoid him.
I would discourage you from making a scene or discussing it with neighbors as that only fuel the fire for this attention whore and will make the police department less eager to address the situation as seriously.

PS.
Glad you spoke to your property manager if you think this is adequate I would withold sending the letter until he bothers you again. Write your property manager a thank you note if you think it will be appreciated otherwise lay low and don't be a headache to them.

Oh Jess laugh laugh This guy knows people I know, they were feeding him information that I was single, needless to say I make no more contact with them. This could have been a potentially harmful situation for me! However, I do think he will not put a foot wrong from now or in the future, he is a visitor to this country and it will not go down too well if he is arrested. This may sound quite racist, but this is the second time I have had run-ins with guys from Africa ( Ghana to be precise)somehow, they seem to think that a woman (any woman) is there for the taking! noway grumble
