NO PUBLIC OPTION
What a waste - the whole debate has been centered around the public option and not what we can do to reform healthcare and how to get people covered and reduce costs. Typical of our government. |

If they are not going to do a bipartisan bill then they might as well put the public option in.

Ya know..I am all about getting people who are uninsured covered.
The problem came in with the language for the public " option " which wouldn't have wound up BEING an option at all. Why can't the government just say " Hey. We're going to make sure that everyone gets covered " without adding in that if someone ( like me who makes right around 30K a year ) doesn't get insurance, they are going to be " penalized " for it? Seriously. I am pretty sure that whatever " fine " they want to impose on me, is still going to cost me less than the insurance would. The company I work for offers insurance, but the cost ( around 380 bucks a month just for me alone ) per month is extremely prohibitive. So the government is going to " fine " me for not getting insurance?? Wouldn't ya think that they might be able to figure out that if I could actually AFFORD the insurance in the first place I would have GOTTEN it by now? |
