Dear All 535 members Congress;

It is now official: You are all morons.

The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775 - you have had 234 years to get it right; it is broke.

Social Security was established in 1935 - you have had 74 years to get it right; it is broke.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938 - you have had 71 years to get it right; it is broke..

War on Poverty started in 1964 - you have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor"; it hasn't worked.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 - you've had 44 years to get it right; they're broke

Freddie Mac was established in 1970 - you have had 39 years to get it right; it is broke

Trillions of dollars in the massive political payoff called the TARP bill of 2009 shows NO sign of working.

And finally to set a new record:

"Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009! It took good dependable cars ( that were the best some people could afford ) replaced them with high priced ( people who couldn't afford to are now making payments ) mostly Japanese models so a good percentage of the profits, from the sales, went out of the country. And lastly, the American taxpayers are now going to be dinged with paying for yet 3 billion more dollars of our governments experiments to make our wallets even thinner.

So with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that "services" you shove down our throats are failing faster and faster, you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system? 15% of our economy? Are you crazy?

Truly, the inmates are running the asylum! And what does this say about voters who put such pond scum in office? Maybe we need to let others in on this brilliant record before 2010 and just vote against incumbents.

So everything is broke? And we get no benefit from any of those?

And what's wrong with with the postal service? Last time I checked I could get a letter delivered anywhere in the country in a couple of days for less than $.50. I can't get a cup of coffee for that. Of course it's not really a government agency either.

FYI - I heard today that most people are satisfied with their Medicare coverage. The doctors like it too. Sometimes it pays faster then insurances do. Guess that's working too.

what's wrong? The postal system is so inefficient that it runs deficits every year, even though there is less mail delivered physically now and postage prices are up.

Hey Winx, this is going to be off topic for just a moment. But, after reading your post...it just dawned on me, and never thought about it before...but, I can't remember a single time that you have agreed with anything I've posted! We seem to be at odds with all things, and I thought that was sooo funny! Have you noticed the same thing as well? I'm still laughing, as I write this comment!

Anyway...to each his/her own, and your entitled yours as well. But that was just an observation on my part, and thought it was kind of funny.

You have a fun/safe week ahead. Keep posting, I enjoy your opinions. waving

It is always easy to blame the government that is run by the people for the people for all the issues in this country.

I don't

I blame every citizen who doesn't vote.

I blame every citizen who claims they are victims of their government.

I blame all who will not try to work with the government for change, just constantly berate the government with no positivity in their speech.

Etc....

It is easy to blame the government what good does it do anyone to blame them?

If you pull me down under the water, trying to drown me, I'm going to fight you like hell, to get back up to the surface, to breath!

How much MORE work can we give, when we're being robed by our own Government to start with? How much more do we have to give?(i.e. raise taxes, cut benefits, etc)

Just my opinion...as usual.

Actually, I've never noticed that we always disagreed. lol I talk with you on the non-political threads just fine. I don't recall you ever being rude to me either.

One thing about the letter that you posted. Yep, it's about the members of Congress. They're the ones running the show with the health care issue. Obama needs to be stronger about it, IMO.

Also, I liked the Cash for Clunkers program. It worked out well in my city. I like the Medicare program too.
