We're not supposed to be
Like This
(a little poem about romance)


"But, we're not supposed to be like this" she said , her lips trembling after a moments stolen bliss,
After the kiss,

"It all seems somehow so very wrong,
To pay the piper and do the dance, But to settle for shallowed
Romance." (he gazed deep within her eyes, she knew he heard her
sighs)

"I really shouldn't be here like this,
I almost feel dirty after that kiss,
No love has gotten our attention,
We both are held in apprehension",

"Our words themselves are in suspension,
And it's not supposed to be like this."

"Follow me," he said, with an open hand, pointing to his bed,
"Time and words can choke our brain and drive our senses quite insane,
All said how can you then reply, but to you I say instead,
Our passions too must sometimes rule and sometimes be fed."

Then their eyes met and she held his hand and with a gentle kiss,
Up the stairs he quickly led.

When sometimes it is not supposed to be like this,
It may be what is needed then,
To answer lifes' most beckoned call,
There are times when,
Being oneself is best of all,
And delicious passion follows the simplest of pleasures, one kiss.
