...to the parents of Detroit. What an awful situation to have children who so completely disregard human life and how awful that we will hear more about these unfortunately viscious teens than we will the one good samaritan who gave his life trying to help another.

I dont blame it on television, God knows I watched violence and sex growing up,, but somewhere in my foundation I still knew it was an AWFUL thing in real life and that it was not ok. There seems a wave of children and adults who think the world is about them and who truly just dont care how their actions and words impact others...

I understand turf wars could be an extension of the wars adults create (usually over turf or power as well, and usually with plenty of innocent casualties), but this was a community center where kids should be able to go to get away from danger and where the turf belongs to all. IT truly sickens me seeing these things,,,and as a teen mom,, it terrifies me inside (though I would never show that to my teen, I want his life to be full, not full of fear).

Just venting again,,but any detroit minglers out there, my thoughts are with you and minglers everywhere,, try to truly THINK about how your words and actions are going to impact someone before you speak or act. Life is truly too precious to be treated as a game.

As a sidebar: I think I am going to take my own advice. I have gotten so frustrated about my current marital situation I started to get very short and perhaps slightly unkind to my ex lately. Just because I dont love him doesnt mean I cant be kind to him so I think I will take longer to consider my words to him before I speak from now on.
