Here's a stimulus success story: In Arizona's 15th congressional district, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. At least that's what the Web site set up by the Obama administration to track the $787 billion stimulus says.

There's one problem, though: There is no 15th congressional district in Arizona; the state has only eight districts.

And ABC News has found many more entries for projects like this in places that are incorrectly identified.

Late Monday, officials with the Recovery Board created to track the stimulus spending, said the mistakes in crediting nonexistent congressional districts were caused by human error.

"We report what the recipients submit to us," said Ed Pound, Communications Director for the Board.

Pound told ABC News the board receives declarations from the recipients - state governments, federal agencies and universities - of stimulus money about what program is being funded.

"Some recipients clearly don't know what congressional district they live in, so they appear to be just throwing in any number. We expected all along that recipients would make mistakes on their congressional districts, on jobs numbers, on award amounts, and so on. Human beings make mistakes," Pound said.

The issue has raised hackles on Capitol Hill.

Rep. David Obey, D-Wisc, who chairs the powerful House appropriations Committee, issued a paper statement demanding that the recovery.gov Web site be updated.

"The inaccuracies on recovery.gov that have come to light are outrageous and the Administration owes itself, the Congress, and every American a commitment to work night and day to correct the ludicrous mistakes."

It's like watching children run the nation. They report what the recipients tell them. This leaves it wide open for fraud and abuse. This makes all the data tainted and useless.

This White House wants to take over the census in order to politicize it for their own sneaky purposes. If they can't get this right, how screwed up could they make the census data?

Actually, I dont see proof of any lying here. It is the same with census, they can only report what is given them, so there are going to be errors. I have faith the mistakes will be corrected but I would gamble that people dont know what districts they are in or just send in incomplete information. The researchers will need a way to keep better checks and balances, but mistakes are going to be inevitable on a project this big.

There may not be any deliberate lying...but at the very least it shows a level of ineptitude that is ( or at least SHOULD be ) unacceptable.

I mean, seriously, the 99th Congressional District of Puerto Rico???

That website cost over 18 million dollars to set up. A mistake as blatant as that, or one that said the 15th ( or some number like that ) district of the Virgin Islands, should have been caught before they were ever allowed to hit the site.

Your excuse for wannabe Kang Hussein is laughable. They blatantly lied about jobs being created in districts that don't exist.rofl

Obama admits that perhaps another stimulus package will be needed. The question is will the people agree to it. Well actually not the people but Congress.

Here is a interesting question though.

Let us say the stimulus package didn't go through. What would have happened to the corporations. They would go bankrupt leading to more unemployment. Is this correct?

If so this means the unemployment rate would have been higher.

Now since the Republicans didn't support the stimulus package what would have been their alternative to ensure that the unemployment rate would have been lower as it is today?

You see either way unemployment rate would probably have went up anyway without the help (or if you call it that) of the government.

The corporations were planning anyway to send most of their factories to China or India. It was enivitable that their greed to save money on work labor, taxes, and costs by getting people who work for little money.

Are Americans willing to work for such low wages. If they did then the employment rate would have fallen, but the people would not be happy for they couldn't afford basic neccessities.

So now what?

Do you see how the government is giving the run arounds on us?

Americans don't want illegal immigrants that work for low prices. Americans themselves will not work for lower prices. So what will be the strategy be for a mega corporation? It is simple. They just send their factories overseas for a numerous of reasons to ensure profit for their company.

Illegal immigration then slows down a little pleasing the Americans, yet the Americans complain there is no work!

As business declines the dollar falls leading to less stability for the nation. Without innovative ideas and inventions the world wants to have then you will fall out of the competition.

So America looks vividly for talented folks with inventions and gives them special visas to create them here in America. They try to make them American citizens and claim the invention for themselves. That is fine with me. Those inventors come because they are offered good money, better then what they perhaps would have had in their country.

These inventions are then patented and sold as profits worldwide to ensure a work labor and decline on the unemployment rate.

This keeps America going also you know, but now many inventors go to Europe instead.

So here we have all kinds of problems going on.

Simple solutions? No there are not.

Yet I am confident the US will find a way regardless how divided it is on opinions on a great deal of subjects. If not then don't be surprised if America isn't the country that many want to do business with anymore. Fortunately, many countries depend on the US to do good so their country can do well also. That you still have, yet for how long?

If you know how the census works, census takers take information from citizens and must take that information as GIVEN by the citizen. The reporting for these jobs works the same way. It is no more a case of blatant lies, than any miscalculations in the census (of which there are many). These officials dont visit every district across the country and personally count jobs, they rely on the districts themselves to identify and report their own.

Yeah, right. He got in with the votes of dead folks, ACORN heavyhanders, biased media and the promise he would play by the rules of special interests.

If his crew was so intelligent, they would know how many districs were assigned to each state.

Blatant lies and misdirection.

With Hussein in power, we have over 10% unemployment, trillions more in debt, porous borders any halfwit terrorist could breach.

Wannabe Kang Hussein is a liar and a loser, along with 90% of Congress.

Considering Obama doesn't run the site that lists the information, how can he be responsible for the inaccuracy?

People just want to blame him for stupid stuff.

He is not at fault for this web site so he isn't to blame, making the title and OP irrelavant to the Obama and stimulus.
