Oceans, very nice post however it is very one sided. Unfortunately the
Israeli-Palestinian problem has two sides to it.

The major side with is commonly overlooked is that Syria, Egypt, Jordan
and most of the middle east countries do not want the "Palestinians" to
have a country of their own as this would take away their only military
asset capable of attacking Israel at will with no negative reprecussions
for said countries.

I agree the Palestinians have been treated horribly throughout history.
The funny thing is the Jews are the Palestinians, the current
"Palestinians" adopted the name after the creation of Israel.

The so-called Palestinians today are really Jordanian, Syrian, Egyptian.
These lands that they are on when the 1967 war took place was part of
these countries. Considering there was never a Palestinian Country it is
hard for them to have been citizens of said country.

You also convieniently leave out the fact that the Egytian, Syrian and
Jordanian armies had amassed on along the Israeli borders, leaving the
Israelis with a logical conclusion that they are going to be attacked as
they had been in the past by said countries. Even though Israel initiate
the attacks, it was in response to an inevitable invasion force on it's
borders.

AB: you did not answer my question about why you became belligerent. I'm
not going to spend any more time answering your questions about the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict until you answer this question.

It has seemed to me that you are better than that, but I am not going to
spend time with you on this if you have some built-in reason to not
learn, or to be belligerent/unpleasant. I gain nothing by trying to
help you understand the history and complexities of the conflict, and do
it only because I believe we make a better world when people understand
more.

It's your call.

That was a nice reply to me yesterday and I owe you a response. Just
up to my armpits in work at the moment but I will get back to you.

I trust you didn't see my initial posting as an attack. Just wanted to
show the other side of that story. Anyway, I'll get back to you as soon
as I can. Take care.. Jerry

Hmmmmm.....

So now we come the weird thing, Wonderman37. Things are clicking into
place. I checked out Wonderman37, Spider, and AB, and see that you are
all Christian fundamentalists. You believe in the literal word of the
Bible and believe that has prophecies. (My apologies if I have this
wrong: please correct.)

So now I understand what you are trying to do: force-fit the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its historical realities and current
political patterns into the Biblical prophetic model. This explains why
you have been so resistent to actually laerning about the conflict, and
so insistent on your interpretations and views of it, despite your clear
lack of knowledge about it. I do not mean this in any pejorative way.

The fact is that not many people understand the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict, and that it takes years of careful and nunbiased study before
one can begin to understand it at the level of detail that we have been
discussing it in the last day.

I first started to wonder what was going on when AB raised the question
of water -- a very good question that most people don't even know about.
I asked him which river he was talking about -- the Litani or the
Jordan, and he replied he didn't care about which river he was asking. I
knew there was some sort of aproblem because, as I then explained, the
two rivers are in very different situations legally and politically.
Not caring about which river we are discussing raised a red flag, but I
answered AB's question anyway. He then became belligerent and I knew
somethign else was happening.

Spider's posts have oftened seemed dedicated to an underlying point of
view that he was not expressing, and then we have Wonderman37's bizarre
interjections.

I accept that the three of you together represent the 'Christian
funadmentalist' point of view on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and
that your style of discussion represents the style and mental apporach
of Christian fundamentalists.

OK: so you want to force-fit the conflict into the framework of your
understanding of Biblical prophecy.

Well, this is not the thread to do it in, so I ask you to not hijack
this thread any further with this Biblical agenda.

This thread is for people who want to discuss and understand the
conflict AS IT IS, not try and use and if need be distort the conflict
to confirm a pre-ordained Biblically-based point of view.

So I have opened up a thread for those who want to examine the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict in terms of whether it fits or confirms
your Biblical point of view. I have named the thread, Does the Bible
foretell the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?

I don't understand this Biblical point of view you are operating out of,
and I will be happy to be your student in that thread, as long as you
let go of the belligerence and rudeness that you have brought to this
thread.
