Six Key National Issues
SECURE BORDERS
Without secure borders the American people cannot be protected from an invasion of illegal aliens; from terrorist attacks, from deadly gangs, such as MS-13; and from ruthless alien drug cartel activities. We have already been victimized by the policies that have left our borders porous and unsecured. During the Clinton and Bush Administrations some 20 million illegal aliens have entered our country and it is estimated that some 4,000 walk over the US border from Mexico every night.

On September 11, 2001 approximately 3,000 of our fellow citizens were killed, in part, because our borders had not been secured and our immigration laws were not enforced. We remain as susceptible today to terrorist attack as we were on that day. In addition, illegal aliens are responsible for a large part of the violent crime and drug problem in our country. How many more law enforcement officers need to be killed, citizens raped and murdered or acts of terrorism resulting in mass destruction as experienced on 9/11 need to occur before our government takes the appropriate action to secure our borders? The politicians whom we have elected in both the Congress and in the Executive branch have failed in their Constitutional responsibilities to our country.

The National Veterans Coalition knows that our border with Mexico must be sealed immediately for our nation to be secure. At least 50,000 active duty military personnel should be stationed on the border to supplement the Border Patrol to perform all patrol duties, except the military would not have arrest authority. The military forces at the border should be armed and be able to use their weapons if threatened by anyone crossing the border. Active duty personnel will be required until the FENCE that Congress approved prior to the 2006 elections is built and additional Border Patrol can be hired and trained.

Veterans will be active politically to ensure that this country, which we have served to protect, is once again secure and that means SECURED BORDERS, the most crucial of which is the border we share with Mexico.

STRONG NATIONAL DEFENSE
The United States of America must posses the trained manpower, proper war fighting equipment, prepared facilities, unparalleled intelligence gathering capability and the strong, dedicated will of the people topped off with America-First Leadership in the Executive and Legislative branches of our government, IF our nation is to survive the existing global terrorist war.

We must defend our shores and our people against an enemy, whose pursuit of their goals is achieved by use of suicide bombers, including women, boys and girls. They have declared their goal to be the destruction of the United States and they are working methodically toward that goal. In light of this, it defies all reason and logic why the Clinton and Bush Administrations, and a Legislative branch that has been equally complicit by its failure to exercise its Congressional oversight powers, have consciously allowed twenty million illegal aliens to invade our country and colonize our towns and cities. How many of these illegal aliens are terrorists? Are we willing to wait until terrorists cause more death and destruction before we take the necessary action to protect our nation and secure our borders?

It is essential to exercise vigilance worldwide through effective intelligence operations and military preparedness that is second to none to protect against those who mean us harm and will use terrorism to accomplish their ends. Likewise, with knowledge of those who have trained, equipped, funded and have a history of supporting terrorism on a worldwide basis, it is irresponsible for our government not to take every possible measure to protect our borders from invasion from such an enemy. The fact is, however, that while the both the Bush Administration and Congress have been quick to pass measures which seriously impede the Constitutional rights of law abiding American citizens, they have been unwilling to lift a finger to impede the access of terrorists to our nation across unsecured borders.

The National Veterans Coalition affirms that, without question, the foremost duty of the United States is to provide a strong national defense to protect its citizens from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Our Air Force and Navy must be so strong that no aggressor, whether terrorist or otherwise, could ever believe they would survive an attack by our forces. Our Army and Marines must be kept strong, well equipped and prepared to deal with any threat to our nation. Having a military which is second to none in strength and preparedness for the defense of our nation, there should be, with few exceptions, no need for the boots of our military on foreign soil.

ENFORCE LAWS TO PUNISH EMPLOYERS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS
Approximately twenty million illegal aliens, who are unaccounted for and colonizing our towns and cities, are costing the taxpayers of this country over $50 billion per year. Most of these illegals are attracted to this country by the fact that there are employers in this country who are willing to violate immigration and tax laws in order to hire cheap labor.

In addition to securing our borders we must stop the unlawful practices of American employers, large and small, who attract the illegal aliens to this country by making jobs available to them. Not only must we treat the illegal aliens as lawbreakers, we must also treat their employers the same way and prosecute them to the full extent of the law. Past administrations, in particular the Bush Administration, have had abysmal records in the enforcement of employer sanction laws for the employment of illegal aliens. The rule of law must prevail. Just as illegal aliens must face prosecution and deportation for ignoring and violating our immigration laws, so must American employers face punishment for the same reason.

A CONSTITUTIONAL TAX SYSTEM THAT WOULD ELIMINATE THE FEDERAL PERSONAL INCOME TAX AND THE IRS
The present income tax system is the scheme written by a handful of men, mostly representing the banking establishment, in 1913 for the purpose of getting their hands on money of the American people to fund increasingly larger government and to pay the debt to the Federal Reserve System, which is controlled by the banking establishment. This scheme came to fruition through enactment of the 16th Amendment to the Constitution. There is considerable question as to whether the 16th Amendment was properly ratified and also whether it may properly be used as justification to tax the wages of Americans paid in exchange for labor. Nonetheless, the unfair, burdensome and confiscatory Federal Income Tax and the intrusive, punitive IRS have been an unnecessary and unpleasant fact of life for Americans for too long!

The National Veterans Coalition fully supports the Constitutional Tax Reform plan of the Constitution Party. The Constitution Party tax plan is simple, responsible and based on realistic figures. It will cut Federal spending down to constitutional size and replace the current graduated income tax system, and eliminate the Internal Revenue Service, with a system modeled after the original approach found in the Constitution.

Revenues would be raised via reasonable tariffs on imported products and limited excise taxes on non-essential goods and services. To the degree that tariffs on foreign products, and excises are insufficient to cover the legitimate costs of the federal government, the Constitution Party supports an apportioned “state-rate” tax in which the responsibility for covering the cost of unmet obligations will be divided among the several states in accordance with their proportion of the total population of the United States, excluding the District of Columbia. Thus, if a state contains 10% of the nation’s citizens, it will be responsible for assuming payment of 10% of the annual deficit.

The effect of this “state-rate tax” will be to encourage politicians to argue for less, rather than more, federal spending, and less state spending as well.

By supporting the Constitutional Tax Reform plan of the Constitution Party a major economic burden would be removed from the backs of all Americans, an oppressive bureaucracy would be removed, and constitutional functions of government could be met without incurring further debt.

ELIMINATE TAXPAYER SUBSIDIES AND SOCIAL PROGRAMS FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS
Just as they are attracted by the promise of employment, illegal aliens are drawn over our borders by medical care, social services and education which are provided free to them courtesy of the American taxpayer. If American taxpayers knew how much each are having to pay to subsidize the cost for schools, additional law enforcement, bigger jails and prisons, food stamps, social programs and unlimited medical care for the support of illegal aliens, it is likely that there would be a revolution!

Twenty million illegal aliens are being supported by 280 million taxpaying Americans. The illegal aliens who are employed as cheap labor are contributing little or nothing for these services. More money is spent for the support of illegal aliens than is spent on our own poor and for our American veterans. This is an outrage!

Once in office, most of our elected politicians forget about the taxpaying citizens who put them there and instead pander to special interests. The Democrats have recruited new party members and potential voters from the ranks of the illegal aliens with promises of taxpayer funded programs. Republicans have trolled for vast amounts of campaign cash from the employers who hire illegal aliens and who expect to be shielded from prosecution for these practices as well as to be subsidized with taxpayer funded medical, school and fraudulent social services support for this illegal alien source of cheap labor.

The National Veterans Coalition insists that the best method of stopping the illegal alien invasion of this country is to enforce existing laws precluding the hiring of illegal aliens and to stop all taxpayer subsidies and social programs to illegal aliens.

Our way of life is threatened by the failure of our elected officials to take effective measures to eliminate this problem. Therefore, all politicians who fail to take immediate action to enforce employer sanctions and to cut off subsidies for illegal aliens must be voted out of office. This is essential to ensure America’s survival as a free and sovereign nation and it will be a political priority of the National Veterans Coalition. The National Veterans Coalition will do everything possible to replace those politicians who have failed in their responsibility by electing candidates of the Constitution Party who will uphold their oath to defend and protect the United States.

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE WITHIN FIVE YEARS
Big oil corporations, big business and multinational corporations have held America hostage to foreign oil dependence for far too long! Look at the billions of dollars that leave this country every year to import oil. Take a look at the profits these corporations reap every year for being the middle man bringing the oil from the well to the final stage where it is gas pumped into your automobile. Think also about the gas prices the American consumer is forced to pay and the hardship that it places on the lives of average Americans. The reason? An insane national energy policy!

It need not be this way. Brazil, as an example, is totally energy self sufficient and has been for years. They accomplished this as a result of the development of sugar cane alcohol. Every new car manufactured in Brazil is fully capable of running on 100% alcohol, 100% gasoline or a mixture of both. Propane powered vehicles are also available.

Why hasn’t the United States, the most technologically advanced nation on earth, accomplished the energy independence enjoyed in Brazil?

We have abundant oil resources in Alaska, the Gulf of Mexico and off our shores that remain untapped. We must remove unreasonable, excessive regulations on exploration, drilling and refining of oil in this country. We also have abundant coal, enough for 700 years, even at high usage rates. We have the advanced technology to develop nuclear energy as well as alternative energy resources such as ethanol from plants, wind, solar and high capacity storage batteries.

With all of our resources and technology we are decades behind in attaining energy independence. This must change now! Energy is vital to our economy, our standard of living, our way of life, our very freedom, our children’s future and our national security. Beginning as far back in history as Jamestown, Plymouth Colony and Bunker Hill, veterans and all people in this country have worked to provide a secure and free place for industry to exist and prosper. It is now time that industry develops a national strategy, much like the effort to place a man on the moon in the 60’s, that will put this nation on track for energy independence within five years. It can be done. It is a priority of the National Veterans Coalition that it will be done!

Brazil has some very smart leaders un like here where most are to stupid to live . The illegals are the easiest to cure and the cheapest . put the employers in prison with the illegals there for at least 2 years the first time and 19 years the 2 time . then without a job the illegals well walk home . and we can be good neighbors again .
