Topic: Lieberman Rules Out Voting For Health Care Bill | |
---|---|
Egads, all these posts and no one seems to understand that Liberman is not representing his constituants, he represents Big Insurance/Big Pharma... PLEASE look up "Corporate Socialism" and understand the resistance to HC reform. The Ins Ind spends $1.4 million a DAY to defeat HC reform for it's continued bloated profits and ineffective HC policies. You have access to all the emails and letters that have come in to the offices of every Senator?? You know for a fact that every letter and email has been demanding that he vote for the bill?? Lemme guess.." All the polls say that America wants this ". Well...polls can say whatever the people in charge of taking the poll wants the results to say. You right. A lot of that money is going to keep the Fat Cats in DC fat. The ones who are fighting against all this gross taxation are the ones payin' taxes. Those who aren't paying them want all those freebees. If they don't pay the taxes, they shouldn't have a vote. |

$1.4 Million a day goes to what? Laundry?
Ya know what? If YOU had 1.4 million a day to spend...you could do exactly what they are doing. They have the money to do it...it's a free country that allows that kind of thing....so they do. Here's the bottom line, the US spends twice as much on HC than any other industialized nation yet ranks 37th in HC quality. We need reforms or HC costs will definately bankrupt our economy...
I have no argument with " reform ". But...tearing down the entire system, in favor of a government run program, is nnot " reform ". Reform would consist of creating competition. Reform would involve allowing the insurance companies to go head to head against each other. What always bugs me is the fact that the government has laws against monopolies ( because they create a rise in prices due to lack of choice ), but yet, they have no issues with not allowing insurance companies to compete on a national basis ( which, in essence, creates a monopoly in specific areas ) and then wring their hands about the rising costs. Let the insurance companies compete against each other nationally, and the prices will come down because the companies will HAVE to lower their prices or the person they wanted to insure will find another company that will give them a better price. This is such a basic, elementary tenet of economics that it amazes me how many people simply ignore it. |
