DV = domestic violence... can also be called relational violence, family violence, spousal violence

yes DV is domestic violence, and i am not sure of the state she is in, but there is an 800 hotline number, or local YWCA usually has a program for women and kids where they can go and stay, until temporary lodging is found. then, there is a program, they put the women through to explain the cycle of DV....
what she does is pack a bag with things in it. make a plan first. she should have clothes, overnight stuff, money, whatever she wants to take with her. extra set of keys. hide it. make sure he cannot find it. then, she either leaves when he is not there, or once something starts, and she can feel conflict, walk away....don't buy into the conflict. it fuels the fire. then, when time is right, escape, and i mean escape, and don't go back. i will have to get more information to be specific. tell me your location, and i will find an 800 number someone can call, and have the information ready for the next time, because there will be one. i know i post lots of garbage sometimes, but this time i am serious. there r others out there that know about domestic violence, so speak up. this woman needs help. |

![]() Then you also know You cant really do all that much for the woman in this situiation-depending on how long she has been in the relationship and how bad it is The woman has to help herself--by finding out what to do and do it But sadly many many do not The woman has to find her own power and self worth and most likely we will not give it to her-------sad---------but true |

Yes I know but get this...she does not know her options nor does she understand the cycle of abuse. then, there is a dead child unaccounted for...
mental abuse, emotional, physical.....she does have to find her power, but right now she could be scared, frightened, afraid to leave, depressed, and a victim trapped in her own fear. all i can do is what i promised before. feed me the information, and i will find a number.... it takes one phone call...made by the victim to a support agency to find the power to point the way.... to the light to get out...... ![]() |

okay GM I am with you all the way, harleys, the color purple, cooking, and so on.
However, where u stop and where I begin r 2 different things. Sometimes counselors go the extra mile if they think they can save a life. Read between the lines. ![]() |

Umm
I worked at a DV shelter for many years when I was younger Information is power But then you know that the victim can be armed to the gills with information yet time and time again return to the abuser Only the victim can help herself any counselor worth her salt knows that In DV training your taught that Help with providing the info but to get them out of the situation is a feat only they can accomplish I have seen women so battered I had to run to the bathroom and cry--We would give them shelter--but days later they went back to the abuser You can give them the ammo but ya cant make it work Only they can! ![]() |
