from washington post' The Pinocchio Test With very few exceptions, all American politicians, including both presidential candidates, are in favor of a progressive income tax system and welfare policies (such as Medicare and Social Security) that "redistribute wealth." Barack Obama is more enthusiastic about "spreading the wealth around" than his Republican rival. But that does not make him a "Socialist." The McCain camp is wrong to suggest that the Illinois senator advocated an "wealth redistribution" role for the Supreme Court in his 2001 interview. McCain has never been a conservative so comparing him to Obama is pointless.. wealth redistribution is wrong. when you have 47% of the country not paying income taxes it's time to change the tax codes and have everyone pay. the government is to blame for our economic distress and taking money from someone else to cover their ineptitude is outrageous.. class warfare is a sick and twisted game to be playing. |

Everyone that pays income taxes acquired their money through exploitation.. You want to try that one again? The IRS collects over $2 trillion in income taxes.. What was the total amount of revenue collected by the government? $2.314 trillion.. Let's not forget the other sources of revenue are excise taxes.. customs duties.. estate taxes... I'd say that covers the governments sources of revenue.. Now you want me to believe that the 53% of people that pay income tax should pay more because you want to right some perceived wrong? Hello Greece good bye America.. I hope you enjoy the ride.. |

Why didn't you just copy something from the daily kos? Here is something from the IRS for 2008... http://www.irs.ustreas.gov/taxstats/article/0,,id=102886,00.html $1.45 trillion just in individual income taxes.. that is more than your 45% right there.. Don't use numbers from BS sites with an agenda.. |

47 percent of Americans do not pay income taxes due to their income being too low to need to.
Most of the complainers about taxes are in this group. Kinda makes them unbelievable and antagonistic huh? |

Kinda makes them unbelievable and antagonistic huh? So you are saying the people complaining about taxes are the ones that don't pay any? It is pretty obvious that they don't. Of course that is what was being discussed, income taxes. |
