wealth redistribution is wrong. when you have 47% of the country not paying income taxes it's time to change the tax codes and have everyone pay. the government is to blame for our economic distress and taking money from someone else to cover their ineptitude is outrageous.. class warfare is a sick and twisted game to be playing.

wealth distribution based upon exploitation and greed is wrong too,,,people pay MORE than just income taxes and it is more than income tax that pays the expenses of the country,,,

What was the total amount of revenue collected by the government? $2.314 trillion..

Let's not forget the other sources of revenue are excise taxes.. customs duties.. estate taxes...

I'd say that covers the governments sources of revenue..

wow, ok,, so this same source says the TOTAL revenue collected in 2008 was 2.52 trillion , which does make the income tax revenuefor 2008 57% ,,,which will vary from year to year but still not refute the fact that revenue comes from more sources than Income tax

I would just refute the implication that most people are getting something without paying for it,,,,,we pay sales taxes, we pay estate taxes, we pay all types of taxes in addition to income taxes which contribute to the country we all live in


are fewer people paying income tax,,,yes
are fewer people earning enough to be required to pay income tax,,,,yes
are their employers and ceos making enough off of their work to have to pay income tax,,,yes

Id be all for promoting the types of jobs that would mandate income taxes,, but until then,,,,crying about the taxes is putting a band aid on the real problem of underemployment and underpayment to most people while those at the top continue to gain the wealth and prosperity worked for by all the little people
