Woman Accused of Assaulting Officers in Court


Conway - A Conway woman is accused of assaulting two police officers inside Faulkner County District Court after being sentenced to jail for child endangerment.

Police say 23-year-old Mindy Shay fought with a bailiff, then kicked one officer in the groin and scratched another after being sentenced to one year in jail Thursday.

Shay was convicted of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a minor for leaving her 6-month-old daughter alone in a car on Feb. 16. Police say the child was left in a car outside a convenience store where Shay and her boyfriend were playing lottery machines.



Shay's boyfriend - Nathan Martin - has pleaded guilty to the same charge and was also sentenced to a year in jail.
