for one thing, dont worry about covens
there are some writings that say its necessary but its actually not
I myself am a solitary practitioner
I also read some scott cunningham myself which is where I learned that covens arent needed unless you really want it

Merry Meet...I am a Proud American WICCAN..

It will be my pleasure to engage in discussion with all of you...I have not read the thread completely, but wanted to introduce myself.

I am a Solitary Witch..I respect all paths of faith.
I do not recognize or worship a deity known to some as the devil, Satan, Lucifer, etc.
I do not eat, dismember, or use the blood of any living thing for spells.

I do not cast 'hexes'

I do not hate those of different faiths.

I say this not to be rude, or obnoxious, just that these are some of the basic questions asked, so I wanted to answer them to 'break the ice' as some would say.

Bright Blessings to all

waving Sorry I missed you. This forum does not see many posts.

I am not Wiccan but I am a witch. I've been practicing for about 15 or 16 years now.

Welcome to Mingle. flowerforyou

I refer to myself -or, rather my spiritual beliefs as "Pagan" -heavily influenced by various Wiccan practices & beliefs. Paganism is composed of many different & multifaceted spiritual beliefs so primarily designated as everything that is not "Christian". The Pagan Practice that is defined as Wiccan holds an incredible, vast, & confusing array of diversity within it's parameters so, for that reason; I always advise people to read, read, & read! Go to different covens & ask if you can sit-in on their rituals & ceremonies. Ask yourself, a lot of questions & try to answer those questions as honestly as you are able. There is a site-"The Witch's Voice" Link: http://www.witchvox.com/ which will help provide you with an overview of the wide variations associated with Paganism. I also recommend a book, "Drawing Down The Moon" by Margot Adler as a sort of user-friendly primer & introduction to Paganism. Blessings & best wishes on your path;}

Hey whats up? I've been studying wicca for three years in prison but I've been self teaching myself because of the discrimination in prison. Now im here in a reentry program where I can practice. I just need a Highpriest or Priestess who is willing to come in and guide me. Can anybody help me?

Wicca For The Solitary Practitioner

That's the first book you should read. After awhile of doing and being a Wiccan then you'll know if it's the right fit for you. There's only really a few books that are worth having in this subject (which I don't remember off hand) that you should get after if it's something you feel is right for you.

After which time (at least a year or so practising) you can find a Coven or create your own. Then see if that works for you. You might find having others enjoyable or just a headache and go back to practising alone again.

I am a not a Wiccan, but rather a practicing Hermetic mage for more than 15 years now, and I am not only quite happy to see so many excited Pagans here, but also amazed to see so much information being passed around on this post. My younger sister, however, was a practitioner of Wicca, so I am quite familiar with it, and would be happy to answer any questions about either Tradition to the extent of my knowledge.

I'm an eclectic Wiccan, and I would love to find others in Boston, MA. The Craft of the Wise really has been a life changer for me.
