My 13 yr old daughter wrote this for the school online paper...i wanted to share it. I am so proud of her writings.

Fading into the Present
by> A. Cole
My childhood has been dissolving away like sugar crystals in water, only leaving me with the vague memories of who I once was.

I feel like someone is stealing my life from me little by little. Lately I have become robotic and frozen on autopilot with nothing I can do.

Looking in from an outsider’s perspective I may seem like an ordinary, average, bubbly girl; but on the inside I’m losing myself, slowly disappearing within my soul.

I’m petrified that along with everything else in my life, my personality is changing as well. My exterior is so fake and painted on that I have forgotten who I truly am.

Every fiber in my mortal self only wishes to fade away from the many wars dictating my life, and the grave pressures that are brought upon me in this modern society.

My only wish is to just simply fade… deep into the shadows of life, without a sound or thought of the future that awaits me. Just the peace and tranquility of nothingness wrapping around my mind.

You have a talented daughter, and an introspection at such a tender age is always a wonderful thing to behold. I hope she finds the clarity her writing reaches out for. :)
