I arrived at the horse boarding stables early. When I told Shari get her gear together that we were going home. I got "the look" only a fourteen year old girl can give. "Mom, I'm not through cleaning out Rockets stall and I want to visit with my friends for a while". "No, I want to get home, I've got housework and dinner to fix, so get in the car".We drove in silence, I could feel her anger at me so I just let her simmer, besides I had a lot on my mind and was tired from working and driving her into town to take care of her horse. When we turned off the highway we had a six mile stretch of road before we reached home. I concentrated on my driving and ran over in my mind the list of things to do once we got home. All of a sudden Shari turned to me and said "look mom the sky! the clouds look just like cotton candy". I took my eyes off the road and looked upward and the clouds were all billowy white with swirls of pink and blue and it did look like cotton candy. I looked at my daughter and we smiled.
