…getting lost in the maze of cornfields
is where we would have ran

Playing barefoot in the rain
Our toes in the mud
Closing our eyes, imagination takes over
In our minds we were walking on a cloud
…or a bed of soft clover

Fishing in the pond
Netting for minnows
We would catch dozens
Before the sun would go down
The skipping of rocks, would be the echoing sound

Riding the horses
Flying in the wind
Holding on tight, scary but fun
Being but children
Happy, without sin

Exploring and learning
The circle of life
The unstoppable trend
Everything was meant to be
Even being your best friend

If you had been my childhood friend,
…my world I would have shared
…and the journey therein
