I've always had many animals, they are family to me. Exotics have always been my love, cats, dogs, everyone has them, I have them too, but there's something about birds, reptiles, larger animals. I have three African Senegals, one was a rescue, Herbie I've had for a year and a half, Kiki, the other I bought from a breeder eight and a half years ago, and my baby is Calypso. She is a Goffin's I've had for four and a half years. I put half of the payment down before she was hatched, and at a month old I brought her home and raised her. She could eat no solids, couldn't perch, and still didn't have feathers! The other two are very independent, Calypso is quite the opposite, a curious sweetheart who wants to be with me every waking moment. She learned to talk this past year, Herbie was already talking when I got him, and Kiki's picked up a few words, but prefers to beep and imitate other household noises. My Chameleon is Mara, she'll be three this spring. She isn't what anyone would consider a normal pet, they prefer to just clamber around, and don't care to be played with. She is a great subject for paintings and sketches, and her quirky behaviors has earned a place in all our hearts. Molly is my rescue horse, I've had her for almost two years now, she's part Arabian, and Quarter horse. She's a stunning palomino with personality plus. She was from Katrina, someone had left her tied to a fence through the storm, so she has a deathly fear of rain, thunder, and just bad weather in general, but who could blame her? Anyone else have some out of the ordinary pets? I love to hear stories. If anyone wants some pictures I have plenty!
