Topic: Filters | |

I have tried to use the filters for my mail, so that I will only receive mail from (age-50-70) men in my local area. However, I continue to get mostly mail from men who are in their 20's and 30's and live in Asia or Africa. I am not interested in these guys, and I really wish that the filters worked.

Hi, guys. First off, make sure that you are referring to the filters on this page:
http://mingle2.com/inbox/filters ...and not this one: http://mingle2.com/search The second URL/link is where you set the parameters for your Searches, which do not prevent anybody from contacting you. It's not possible to only allow contact from a certain country. If you do have the filters on the former URL set properly, then please email me the user names which got around your filter settings. |

Maybe I am looking at this in the wrong way. I hadn't been keeping track of the names of the guys who are "slipping by" my filters, but they may have not all been "sending me mail", some may have just "viewed" my profile. It always looks like they are sending me mail, but maybe that's not accurate. I will try to make a list of any that actually sent me "mail" and get back to you on this. It has gotten a lot more annoying just recently, not sure why, but I have been seeing extremely long lists of names of inappropriate people in my inbox just this last week.
So, question: is the filter for the inbox, supposed to stop people from viewing me, or just sending me mail? |

The filters are supposed to stop members outside of your ranges from contacting you, Pandora1950. They do not prevents anyone from viewing you.
