I recently posted a request asking where I would look to obtain backround checks of people......I received some replies from some of you out there in JSH land, however I still haven't been able to find the actual websites to obtain any information...

I have found all kinds of professional looking websites that offer free info, but then, after all of their lengthy list of intrusive questions, they want you to pay them for a year of their service, which I wouldn't mind, if they were up front about it in the first place, and if I could have a guarantee that the company is very legitimate and legal & giving accurate and full information...

But from what I have been told,
the information is out there and it is free,
it is just a matter of finding the proper sources...

Does any one know the actual name of the website to go to,
to be able to access this kind of info....

If you are legitimate and happen to have first hand
knowledge in that department, and feel like sharing,
I would really appreciate the information...

hmmmmm net detective.....but it costs about $40......and it only tells you if they have been "convicted" of a crime. It will state the address/phone of the person.....but not enough to get any real info.

G/H, She is right, you will obtain only public record after paying to some sites $25.00 and it goes upto $100.00

If you're really that concerned...call the Police. They'll do a background check for you.

If it's a matter of public record they can tell you. It's how employers do background checks of their potential employees...it's how parents do background checks on nannies and babysitters.

It's great that you're being that cautious...but if you're really that leary of this person, why bother?

There are ways to do a free backround check for a limited time like I told you in email

If you know the name...the public records in the state and county they live in. Most places give arrest history etc...

You can access a lot but not all county records on the internet now.. Look it up by State then city then narrow the search to county records or pick up the phone and call the court house in the county you're looking into or go to the county courthouse and most have a records computer you can use right there. I did several adoption searchs on the internet years ago but its so bogged down with crap info now its really tough. Good luck! and Email me if I can be of any assistance

I called the backround division of our local police department and he said that he wasn't allowed to refer me to any website...hahaha...figures...He was nice, though...They just are so limited it seems on what they can say...
