There are some remarkably uncommunicative people here. Makes you wonder why they signed up in the first place....

It seems really impolite to not respond.

or when they email you... and you reply... and they email you again... and you reply... then BAM. Gone. With the wind. Or without the wind. Or with a werewolf (most likely).

My theory is that the people who don't respond or who stop responding mysteriously were eaten by werewolves. Or turned into werewolves themselves.

A.G. that's how I feel too. If someone takes the time to write to me, they deserve a response. There have been a few exceptions (trolls, scary stalker-types) where I haven't, but anybody halfway normal who can write comprehensible English, I will write them back.

It's at the point now, where I won't write anybody first anymore, and I've given up on the locals entirely. I get plenty of e-mail from people who read my stuff in the forums, even from lurkers who never post at all....

I never really talk to locals, and I'm new.

I like to talk to people from other parts of the country. I've seen Oregon. I haven't seen, for instance, DC or Miami, so it's cool to here from people who live there.

I agree Lex.

I think people sometimes forget that there are live warm bodies at the other end of the keyboard. People with lives and feelings who have taken time out of their day to write to you. I will always respond.

Local is a deadzone here too ... wonder why that happens ohwell

Yeah YoungGun - I've met great friends from all over the world ... the best part is that I always have some place to visit. I hope you have similar experiences. Some amazing people here.

well i am just not sorry to say this......

if this is the kind of stuff that grinds your gears.....rather than just a little sticky clutch....

go back to bed. you are too asleep to beoperating anything that takes mental capacity.

what grinds my gears are things like Morena's son being hit by a drive by,
the meds that didn't show up at the clinic full of tuberculosis patients.

the malpractice and poverty i see in most american hospitals...and cities.

last I checked, the phrase "grinding my gears" is generally used by people to refer to things which are irritating or frustrating.

So if you find malpractice and poverty to be things that are only minorly frustrating, then you're probably lacking in empathy networks and should probably see a psychologist about certain disorders. Like Aspergers.

Don't worry though. People with Aspergers can often live healthy, satisfying lives. They just don't interact well with people, since they have trouble empathizing. Mostly they live alone.

also, there are bigger problems facing people today than being hit by a car.

like the lack of an education culture that teaches children how to think and how to live FULLY, and the existence of a culture that things the solution to education woes is more money.
