In an interview with Time magazine, Obama says he expects Republicans in Congress to work more cooperatively in a second term, since his re-election would no longer be a factor.

“My expectation is that there will be some popping of the blister after this election, because it will have been such a stark choice,” Obama said.

Obama says he wants to focus on overhauling immigration laws and reducing the nation’s dependence on foreign energy during a second term.

I would refer to the actual TIME interview instead of referring to a summary someone offered after reading it

( I doubt that those are the only two things he said he would place importance on)

but in anycase, immigration and energy dependence are significant issues

healthcare has been addressed

the economy is recovering (declining deficit, declining unemployment), albeit slowly

educational grants have increased already,,,

immigration seems to be an issue many are concerned with which hasnt been addressed as much as healthcare, or the economy

and fuel dependency will be a significant factor in our future economy

Are you serious? So if I spend 100 trillion more than I earn then next year only spend 80 trillion more than I earn you consider the problem handled?

Healthcare isn't taken care of when they talk about home much it is costing and most people don't like parts of it.

you are more than welcome to post the entire article..

I disagree with your assessment on the economy recovering..

The economy was supposedly recovering when he and the democrat congress spent an entire year on obamacare..

I believe the idiot Biden declared that last summer was "recovery" summer..

Not quite..

Growth is slowing.. The CBO issued a pretty dire report on next year, Europe is a disaster, China is slowing.. Ironically, due to its housing bubble and leverage issues..

I would really want Obama to get in front of that convention and say he will focus on immigration and energy if he wins..

Good luck with that..

the economy is recovering,

my opinion comes from looking at the numbers since 2009

on the deficit

2009 1512.82 B
2010 1360.37B
2011 1324.16 B
2012 100 B

indicates the deficit is declining

on the debt

fiscal year 2006 (bush) - 10/07 - 9.0T
fiscal year 2007(bush) - 10/08 - 10.5T
fiscal year 2008 (bush) - 10/09 - 11.9T
fiscal year 2009 (obama) - 10/10- 13.6 T
fiscal year 2010 (obama) - 10/11 - 14.8T
fiscal year 2011 (obama) - today - 15.9 T

the annual rate of deficit increase has been pretty steady, no great increase or decrease in the rate,,,

unemployment rate started at 10.0 with obamas first budget (ending 10/10)

went to 8.9 with his second budget (ending 10/11)

stands today at 8.2

so the unemployment rate is also declining

,,,

a few thins to me, which imply a (slow) recovery, in contrast to things getting worse,,,
went to 9.6 the following year
fell to 8.9 in

yes, obviously a mistype

the deficit for 2012 should read 1100B

down from 1324.16 B the previous year

1360B the year before and

more than 1500B in 2009
